I have yet to see any evidence that self-identifying 'conservatives' and defenders of 'conservatism' on this forum are anything other than attention seeking internet trolls.

In the real world, 'conservative' politicians are merely sales representatives for votes based on the ideologies I described; for self-serving, career advancing purposes.

It has no intellectual structure or redeeming qualities: it's simply a catch-all group for dog whistling fear, hatred, ignorance, resentment, greed, selfishness and insecurity.

You are just trying to squeeze everyone you hate into an ideology you obviously don't understand.
Conservatism is trying to keep things as they are, the clue is in the name.
If like me you believe that we have reached equality, that the machinations of virtue signalling intersectional feminists and their identity politics are going too far, then you are conservative.

Well this is ironic, considering you insisted that I was a member of a group I'd never even heard of, and when I pointed this out you said I was simply pretending not to be - for reasons that remain unclear even now.

Oh yes, that's who it was. Your bogeyman, it seems.

Thing is, since you artificially boost membership of groups and ideologies such as "intersectional feminists" by "squeezing" people into that group (because you hate them? According to your claim above that might be it. Personally I think it's more likely just because you can't argue the substantive points) then I suspect your view of what society now is, is probably not terribly realistic.

I am arguing my substantive conservative points very well on other threads and you banned me for weeks and months.

    Errr. Okaaay.

I've no idea what your various bans - which were never for having "argued substantive points", AFAIAA - have to do with my post.

I'm not stupid enough to be certain, I could well be crawling around a rabbit hole of my own making, but unfortunately like most people who believe in conspiracies I see it everywhere.

And yet I asked you a week ago for a link to your claim that Jack Dorsey is a self proclaimed socialist and yet here we are.

I have asked you on numerous occasions stretching back days now for a link to the guy declaring himself to be a socialist.

Something along the lines of "I Jack Dorsey am a socialist and a totalitarian marxist and freely admit to using Twitter to forward the revolution" would do nicely.

He doesn't have to say whether he is a card carrying member of the Socialist Party of the USA, the Communist Revolutionary Socialist Party of the USA, The Workers Communist Revolutionary Socialist Party of the USA (splitters!) or the Socialist Workers Party of the USA.

You're not going to find too many self-declared socialists on the board of Disney.

    So, in your own time.
It's perfectly possible to be a conservative without being racist, misogynist, homophobic, a neoliberal (although most conservatives are neoliberals), a white supremacist, a religious fundamentalist, a conspiracy theorist, a gun enthusiast and a climate change denier.

In fact most mainstream conservatives outside the US are none of these things, except for the neoliberal bit, but a depressing number of US conservatives are most, if not all of the above. The Republican party is the only mainstream party in the world that I am aware of that are climate change deniers.

Even then they don't get deplatformed until they enter the arena of doing actual harm like Alex Jones tormenting the parents of infants who were murdered, Milo Yiannopoulos expounding on the virtues of paedophelia (which made his conservative audience drop him like hot snot), Andrew Anglin at the Daily Stormer tormenting a jewish family and one of the pond life at gab committing mass anti-semitic slaughter.

Kat Timpf of Fox News is the latest conservative to be hounded by the Left. She has tweeted she was hounded out of an establishment because she works for them (and is a National Journal columnist). A bottle of water was also emptied on her head at an event where she was due to contribute to a discussion on criminal justice reform.

American politics... I used to be interested in it but that has waned somewhat.
What does interest me however is the nuts and bolts of how the opposition is blacklisted/sidelined etc. especially in Ireland
I recollect the few voices who spoke out against Biffo's housing bubble.... and one was a lady civil servant. How were they sidelined?
Pensioned off ? Demoted? Told to go and commit suicide? Put in charge of the photocopy machine or the brush for sweeping the floor? Denounced as whistle-blowers or paedophiles?
Someone should make a movie about this place.
