Trump went on an all expenses paid trip to Moscow in 1987

Politico - The Hidden History of Trump’s First Trip to Moscow
The top level of the Soviet diplomatic service arranged his 1987 Moscow visit. With assistance from the KGB. ...The KGB wouldn’t invite someone to Moscow out of altruism. Dignitaries flown to the USSR on expenses-paid trips were typically left-leaning writers or cultural figures. ...
In The Art of the Deal, Trump writes: “In January 1987, I got a letter from Yuri Dubinin, the Soviet ambassador to the United States, that began: ‘It is a pleasure for me to relay some good news from Moscow.’ It went on to say that the leading Soviet state agency for international tourism, Goscomintourist, had expressed interest in pursuing a joint venture to construct and manage a hotel in Moscow.”

There were many ambitious real estate developers in the United States—why had Moscow picked Trump?

According to Viktor Suvorov—a former GRU military spy—and others, the KGB ran Intourist, the agency to which Trump referred. It functioned as a subsidiary KGB branch.

Then blasted US foreign policy after, calling for a retreat from world affairs. He paid $100k for the newspaper ads...

Politico - When Donald Trump Hated Ronald Reagan
Advised by the notorious Roger Stone, a Nixon-era GOP trickster, in 1987 Trump took out full-page ads in the New York Times, the Boston Globe and the Washington Post blasting Reagan and his team. ...The ads, which cost more than $90,000, came after Trump had visited the Soviet Union and met with Mikhail Gorbachev.

And, of course, how many of them then spent a hundred grand on ads criticising Irish foreign policy.

Article one that I cite clearly lays out the KGB background to the official visit

Article two shows him paying his own money to criticize American foreign policy soon after...and the criticism was of the nature that would have been music to the KGB's ears

Donald is very sparing with his money...why did he do the spend ?

Your attempts to deflect are absolutely pathetic.

In order to help you understand the concern, pretend Barack Obama, not Donald Trump, was the person mentioned in the OP.

Now do you see the problem?

Bernie Sanders took his Honeymoon in the USSR which among other things is just plain weird, but in the interest of consistency should we be bashing him for that to? Not to mention comrade Corbyn views of the place but I guess when they do that kind of stuff its ok.

It wasn't all that long before the oligarch takeover of the former USSR, you'd presume the moving and shaking was well underway at that point. Donald must have missed out in the final shake up for the serious goodies, or he was a simple pawn being led by the nose more likely.

Back then the Donald would have been like a stallion out of Coolmore, ready for action, the Russians would have lined up endless "Natashas" for their honoured guest, a good guess would be they have him on videotape, it was their speciality.

How many of them got into power and then ensured that other people's money was diverted to look after their chums in the state propaganda organ ?

Eh no.....Trump was a dirty operator in a dirty game, namely, construction. He didn't see jailtime and wouldn't have.He found more fame and success as a reality TV host on an idiot TV show.He didn't see jailtime and wouldn't have.He decided to enter politics as an idealist and became president against all the odds.Anti-democratic losers, hysterics and conspiracy theorists want to throw him in prison because they don't like the result.End of.

Only this video or Natasha haven't materialised anywhere except in your twisted fantasies.Despite Trump bombing the bejayzuz out of possible Russian controlled parts of Syria.Trump is clearly worried.Make sure Natasha is properly blown up next time you bring her out to play...wouldn't like you to be let down again....

Putin will bide his time with Trump, two things Donald is into, money and women, Putin has both and probably has invested both in Donald already, now Putin has to maximise the payback.

I think you're a tad paranoid about Putin, stanley.

The personal foibles of the heads of state may be of prurient interest to some folk, most other people don't concern themselves with their behaviour unless their behaviour is shown to be illegal.
