Irish Times: Two arrested in Nama property deal investigation

Two men have been arrested by the UK’s National Crime Agency in a fraud investigation linked to the biggest property deal ever in Northern Ireland.

Searches were carried out in Co Down in connection with the inquiry into the controversial sale of assets and property owned by the National Assets Management Agency (Nama), to US investment firm Cerberus.

An NCA spokesman said: “Officers from the National Crime Agency have today carried out two arrests and related searches in the Co Down area in connection with a fraud investigation. ...
BBC: Nama: Two men arrested by NCA in fraud probe

I haven't seen any reaction from NAMA ... yet!

Belfast Telegraph:

... Speaking in the Dail parliament in Dublin, premier Enda Kenny again rejected calls for a state inquiry, insisting that no allegations of wrongdoing had been made against Nama.

Responding to the arrests north of the border, he said: "If they have been arrested, I assume they have been arrested for good reason in respect of activities that would be outside the law.

"I trust that will see itself through that process and be judged before the courts."

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams said Mr Kenny was like "a rabbit caught in headlights" and branded the Nama sale a "national scandal and a disgrace". ...

Good.
We still have Mary Boyle case and the Fr Niall Molloy case outstanding.
We have questions that need be answered about 2 Garda Commissioners.
How long until the state properly investigates NAMA?

Also this brings into question why & how large tranches of real estate are being sold by NAMA to vulture funds with Noonan's blessing.

Well done also Mick Wallace.

Still maybe I'll pull on a green jersey and start cheering for institutional Ireland as certain media outlets and politicans will want us to.

And the Americans are still pursuing their own investigation.

How long can NAMA continue to claim that all the wrong-doing took place north of the border?

Meanwhile on P.ie....the gang argue over a non-binding statement on water charges while billions are swindled in Nama...
The Fine Gael government gang(sters) must be praying that the continued media attention for "Irish Water" will deflect attention from the Nama scandal!

"dome outrage"?

Let's not forget that arrests do not automatically mean guilt.

Although that will be forgotten in the rush to condemn the 2 individuals who have not been named yet.

So where are all the posters who were saying Wallace was talking out of his hole in the Dail when he made the initial allegations?

Has anyone been convicted yet?

Or do we just find these 2 men guilty for being arrested?

And if they're found guilty, you'll say they're innocent until all their appeals have been heard.

It's no wonder there's so much white-collar thievery when dummies refuse to even admit it's going on.

Poor Enda and the 72 Ministers must be praying buckets for the summer recess, if they make it that far.

Comical Ali Noonan will take leaders questions tomorrow to confirm there is no investigation.

He's writing a strongly worded letter to the head of the UK NCA to tell them to stop talking down the country.
