Today has been a good day for the gay community too

01) First and foremost President Obama was reelected has been a good friend to the gay community

02) Maine today became the first state to approve the freedom to marry for same-sex couples through a majority vote on a ballot measure. Maine is expected to begin issuing marriage licenses in mid-December

03) Maryland Voters approved Question 6, the Civil Marriage Protection Act, paving the way for gay and lesbian couples to receive a marriage license beginning in January.

04) Minnesota Gay Marriage Ban was rejected by the voters

05) Although not official yet it looks like Washington State will approve Referendum Measure No. 74 which will legalese same-sex marriage

06) Iowa's Justice Wiggins WINS Retention, The anti gay forces were trying to get him kicked from the bench because he voted in favor of same sex marriage in a ruling, they already had 3 of his fellow judges removed because of the same ruling!!!

07) Troy, Michigan Mayor Janice Daniels, who says that gay people are "mentally disordered," has been recalled by voters. Daniels told the press that her anti-gay attitude actually made people want to move to Troy. Looks like somebody else will be moving instead.

08) Former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle, who once compared same-sex marriage to incest and who cruelly called in LGBT advocates only so she could veto a civil unions bill in their presence, has LOST her bid for the U.S. Senate. Welcome, Sen. Mazie Hirono, who DOES support your full civil equality.

09) Openly gay Rep. Jared Polis has won a third term in the U.S. House.

10) Openly gay former Clinton White House staffer Sean Patrick Maloney has won his U.S. House bid against first-term teabagger Rep. Nan Hayworth.

11) Tammy Baldwin, has been elected as Americas FIRST out U.S. Senator.

Feel free to add any more good news you see here!!!

Nan Hayworth was a moderate Republican Congresswoman from suburban New York, fiscally conservative but not socially. She has an openly gay son and has been a voice for tolerance in her own party. You do her a big disservice when you refer to her as a "teabagger".

Yay, Obama makes it legal for gays to get married, or be interned, and even assassinated,

He's a real American hero!

Yes and the anti gay groups & people are doing alot of that right now!!!

Examples

"The Obama electorate defeated marriage. I’m guessing we lose at least three of tonight’s four races, and maybe four of the four. We were outspent eight-to-one — and no one was willing to speak for marriage, while the whole Democratic establishment and Hollywood campaigned for marriage. Last night really is a big loss, no way to spin it." - Maggie Gallagher, writing for the National Review.
We congratulate Barack Obama on his win. The President performed a spectacular political sleight of hand in this election. Instead of this election being a referendum on his failed record on jobs and the economy, Obama and his campaign successfully made this about side-show issues and the culture wars." - GOProud head Jimmy LaSalvia, whose slate of endorsed candidates largely went down in self-loathing flames.

Yeah sure, I'm a Romney supporter,

A man who cheers for a war with Iran, yet he himself was a draft dodger, hiding out in France instead,

Another All American Hero!

Oh please, gay people are gods children too, why would he punish them for behaving in the way he made them or for entering into a loving relationship??

Its official the state of Washington has voted to allow same-sex marriage by 52 to 48 percent!!!!

This means that all three states (Maine, Maryland & Washington) which were voting on same sex marriage today have passed it,there is also the Minnesota Gay Marriage Ban which was rejected by the voters today!!!

Especially as we don't know what she gets up to in the privacy of her own bedroom.

Why would this matter if it is not recognised anywhere else??

Because their love and commitment to each other will be recognized in their state like every other married couple and in any other state which reorganizes gay marriage however DOMA is on life support and will sooner or later (probably sooner) be ruled unconstitutional and then their marriage will have to be recognized where ever they go in America!!!!!

I see you care about the full gamut of issues, OP.
what do you mean??
