Funny you ignore the 3 FGers.
The reason for singling out O'Donohue is that the RTE report provided not detail on what he was doing abroad, where it did for the other 3. This ****************************** has stolen from us before, and for him to claim unearned expenses in these circumstances just show the man has a neck like a jockeys proverbial. Anything to keep the limelight on O'Donohue !!

As for party affiliations, FF/FG are two cheeks of the same ar$e.

Can reilly write his own ?

:)

im sure with the sheer number of doctors in there its no problem for any party.

damage limitation

WATCH how quickly these lads give the money back as the last thing they want is to be compared to nurses getting docked pay for the same act of god.

:) :)

and yes, in the REAL world if someone clocks you in and your not there, its fraud and the individual involved can be sacked for committing the offense.
Any damage limitation exercise is completely meaningless in my view! It be like an employee who for years is stiffling their company accounts, and then purely because their fraud is subsequently uncovered and exposed, they then decide, oh yes, the way I'll get out of this mess, is to hand the money back, and if I do that, it wasnt fraud, so all is forgiven!

The electorate in these constitutuencies should take particular note of what this say's about these particular politicians....

And if the electorate still decide that this level of "honesty and integrity" is an acceptable standard from an elected public representative....well, honestly, they are worse fools!

James Reily appeared on the News at One to defend all this. Pretty pathetic.

I listened to Reilly, am I correct in saying he wrote to the CC and asked to be marked present for the days but did not wish to claim any expenses for these days, the concern was on making sure he has the 100 days required but also to say he wanted it noted he was doing charity work, at his own expense, and not on private holidays.

Think the other 3 bucks need to qualify same even though they have now all withdrawn claims.

Look...the whole system is up the spout....if I'm the only one who knows an engineer etc in public service who can buy a new car every couple of years on their expenses...I'll eat my hat! I'ts been going on for decades...and the politicians know full well that if they keep the connected civil servants right...and level themselves with civil service wage...sure...won't they all be on the pigs back...and f**k the tax-payer??
Any body disagree??

I certainly don't expect much from Traveller Johnny as regards "doing the correct thing". However, the bucks from FG should have known better, and I predict that this will lose FG very many votes.
There again, was not Mr Michael Lowry a member of FG? And a FG ex-TD sent for trial on corruption today. FG need to clean up their act, and James Reilly must resign from the shadow front bench.
We need to plague our TDs with demands to have the Dail/Senate politicians' gravy train curtailed. I'm very much afraid that all this "legal" theft will result in violence on the streets if no change for the better takes place.

Reilly is the only one, so far, to come out and make a clear statement on the reasons behind his claim, the CC should force the others out into the open and if appropriate suspend them ( think about it, would suit FF).

As for Reilly resigning, you got to be kidding, he has hard earned practical experience of the Health system and speaks on his area of expertise very well, Harney avoids him like the plague.

Lowry is and has been an FF'er for a very long time, in everything but name, going back to the days when he brokered peace between the Dunnes and Haughey and we all know where that led.

Nothing from Lowry now for a long time about his SuperCasino for North Tipp, must be sinking fast like his career.

You know, Stanley, on 'mature reflection' I'm in agreement with you. However, I do believe that it was unwise of Dr Reilly to make that claim in the first place. Thankfully, he has clarified the position.

We must all be on our guard to 'out' corruption in our government, where-ever it occurs. To me, it is simply not acceptable.

Furthermore as a senior shadow Minister, Reilly should force the other FG TD's to make public statements clarifying issues around their claims, thereon one can only hope JOD would do the same.

The issue requires transparency and satisfactory closure, perhaps a statement from the CC.
