Most of us have things we love and hate about America and it would be tiresome to start listing them all here. But what of the future. Will America go the way of all the great nations and decline as others grow? Or will it again reinvent itself and continue to lead the world.

To any Americans looking in, a happy fourth of July.

I have no doubt it will do so again.
It's future leadership is unquestioned as its economic success, cultural diversity and can do attitude are the driving influence behind the sea change in Chinese thinking as the Chinese continue to open up to the globalised world.

But I dont give in to all that 'lead the world' crap....never have....but I understand what you mean. A major influence in the world - no doubt about it - and it has always held the promise, the potential of 'leading' in a positive sense. The reality has been, to say the least, disappointing....but the promise still survives. Most people wish the US well because of this 'promise' notwithstanding some of its horrific actions....what can I say, people are generous!

I think it's a little early in there bid to 'lead the world' to be suggesting that.

In the history of history it always ends and it will so again even if it is by Aliens who shoot green lazers at buildings.

Assuming it learns from its mistakes, it will still be a long road back from the destruction caused by the Republicans but America will get there eventually. By that time of course, the world will have changed.

This is not the reason governments form--to secure our rights. This is just a sales job for the criminal state.
