A petulant tweet from the far-left.

If the far-leftists are wondering why they're doing so poorly in the polls, they might take a look at some of the people they elect into public office. Take Joan Collins who, on Christmas Day tweeted "Merry Christmas to all on here except the FF, FG and Labour supporters obvs."

There she is, sitting her spiteful little echo chamber (quite possibly of her own construction since she admits to blocking people) on social media, thinking that this will impress folks. She was criticized by a lot of people for it although she was able to draw on a number of her supporters who attacked her critics with colourful language.

But, with many things, it's not the ones posting she needs to think about. It's the ones who read a tweet like that and
(a) dislike it a lot
(b) decide not to bother posting about it for fear of the abuse they'd get
(c) resolve never to have anything to do with her and her party.

And the next time the far-leftists whine about bias in the media, they should look in their mirrors instead.

Not exactly crime of the century.

Would you not see it as banter ?

Bit disappointed she used the C word.

That was the most excluding part of the tweet.

As one of the offending supporters my Christmas was enhanced by not getting greetings from a member of scroungersRUs.

I can see why politicians are advised to stay away from social media - even jokes are used to attack....

p.s. noted that she excluded the Shinners! Probably because they aren't worth worrying about as they tear themselves to bits.... If and when Mary Lou takes over Operation Hummingbird will be go, go, go!

It's call the art of polarisation and division and is increasingly the way modern er 'politics' has shifted and is shifting. And not just in Ireland but everywhere it seems. Nothing to do with consensus, finding solutions, working on behalf of all our citizens and the nation as a whole, nothing to do with the people choosing a thoughtful and considered set of options and policies for Ireland Inc. It's all now just the contemporary toxin of 'out hating' your competitors. Apply the behaviour of our politicians to sportsmen for example and you see ho slow they've sunk and why so many people tend not to vote and why the extremist hate agenda is more and more the meat and veg of elections.

I have no problem with Joan Collins expressing her opinion.

In fact she has gone soft on the Brussels Bloc with he comment.
