Sir Jeffrey tells it how it is
“As Arlene Foster pointed out in the Patrick Kielty programme, “a united Ireland is not going to happen,” the Lagan Valley MP said.

"It was a hypothetical question as there is no realistic prospect of a united Ireland.

Other impportant quotes from Arlene were cut from the show obviously to get maximum impact which was careless and immature by the broadcasters.

"Sir Jeffrey said that Mrs Foster pointed out advantages of the union with Great Britain in footage that was cut from the show.

"Whilst not broadcast on the programme, Arlene rightly pointed to the strong arguments for the Union whether the economy or our fantastic and invaluable National Health Service," he said.

"It is always useful to debate and refresh the minds of the next generation as to why Northern Ireland’s place within the Union is so important whether from an historical, cultural, economic, social or security point of view.”

Unionists increasingly telling us a UI will not happen.

That can only mean one thing: A UI really is on the agenda.

Jeff will safely be in the British commons/ lords, Arlene will be in exile in the British Fermanagh Island somewhere in the Atlantic, where are you for?

Dream on.

McGuinnes said 2016

now Michelle has said in 5 years 2023 (fair play to her she claimed this on April Fools day which is quite apt)

The SF/IRA leadership are taking the hand out of the plebs, they also know it is not going to happen but are scared to admit it.

Nope. They keep telling us it won't happen more and more these days.

Not sure if they are trying to convince us or themselves. Relax, Jeffery will still be able to do his Daniel O'Donnell cover act in a UI.

British controlled Ulster, where I was born, reared and will die.

Never say never. After the Riverdancing aliens arrive there may be good reasons to join.

The more immediate problem is for the DUP to figure out how it can modify its tribal image and become a normal British party that can contribute constructively to a pro-UK consensus in NI. Many of its leading figures are so repulsive to nationalists that a future UI vote might be lost on that basis.

You might well be right but quoting someone camper than Julian Cleary and an overstretched underfunded NHS isn't going to convince anyone. Just sayin'.

So I take it you wont be leaving with Arlene? Do you not think that it was an extraordinary thing to say? Does it not also give the impression of a tribe of outsiders holding territory for the UK rather than a tribe whose home was in Ireland?

Relax so, you've nought to worry about, just like those on the Titanic.

Does Jeff really see no difference between Dev's and Leo's Ireland? One of many reasons why UI talk makes some of us nervous down Mexico way.
