From been called Militant back in the 80's to the Socialist Party to the ULA to AAA to now Solidarity - well you have to give it to the entryist Trots for repackaging themselves. Apparently though it's not all plain sailing, I have read a photographed copy of the article and that many are complaining that the decision to change the name was taken by the Socialist Party members ignoring the views of non SP. AAA deny this saying it was taken in consultation with the rest of the AAA membership but apparently resignations are been threatened. So people, what 's your thoughts on this latest incarnation of Militant/SP/ULA/AAA and now Solidarity ?

( By the way, the lead picture including Brid Smith, RBB at the top seems misleading as there is no mention of PBP in the name change. Maybe like a lot of other people he doesn't see any difference between AAA and PBP ? )

How could you be in the AAA and find yourself surprised when the SP call the shots. That's how it works with front organisations. What did they think they were joining?

They were probably told something like it's " A socialist organisation that embraces all it's members and views impartially in the furtherance of Marxist principles blah, blah, blah ".

What is it with Trots and the constant changing of titles for their organizations?

I don't understand why Trotskyism continues to dominate the Irish Hard Left; if people don't want the "orthodox" Communism of the Communist Party of Ireland or the Workers Party than why not something like Maoism or Bordgism or something vaguely interesting like them?

Trotskyism IS the hard left don't you know !! One thing that Militant/SP/AAA/Solidarity have very much in common with the Sticky's ( Workers Party) is their total resentment at SF even to the point that their de facto unionists against a United Ireland !! "If the Shinners are for it then we are against it regardless" sort of thing :) Good for an auld laugh the Trots - though just like the Sticky's they'll be isolated by SF with time ;)

It's a tactic known as entryism so beloved of the Trots. Having good workable policies instead doesn't occur to them, playing little games etc :)
You mean good workable policies like Sinn Fein have like privatisation, imposing Tory austerity, cutting taxes for the rich and rejecting the right of women to control their own fertility.

These days the WP are more bitter against their former comrades who hitched up with the centre right Irish Labour Party they are agin their former comrades in the Shinners.

What isolated them is most of their TDs selling out the membership and founding a new party briefly before joining a totally capitalist one.

Unlike the Shinners though they still want a 32 county independent Republic while SF want the whole island to remain under Brussels' jackboot.

"Solidarity" or whatever they are calling themselves now are basically Unionist, PBP though are a cowardly form of Disso.
