Alex Salmond, former Scottish First Minister, is to present a political talk show on Russia's RT broadcaster. It will be produced by his own media company, Sláinte. He needs denies it will be a Putin propaganda tool and he says that he will have "total editorial control".

However, regardless of the degree of Mr Salmond's editorial freedom the point here is that Russia is directly supporting a significantly destabilising figure within British politics.

Russian stooge or all part of the rich diversity of European politics and media?

Basically he is saying the Russians funded Scottish nationalism and it wouldn't have been the success it is without it, and this is Salmonds bung.

As you do.

I might not trust them to give me accurate information about what is happening in Crimea or Chechnya but their coverage of events in Iraq since the early 2000's, IMO, is often more accurate than the BBC's or CNN's.

'The pro-Iraq war clique have attempted to use political correctness to their advantage. As part of what Media Lens calls ‘demonising dissent’ - the fourth component of a ’Propaganda Blitz’,principled opponents of western foreign policy are smeared as ‘sexist’ ‘misogynist‘, ‘racist’ ‘conspiracy theorists’ ‘genocide deniers’ and even ‘dictator apologists’ -in the hope that no one will draw attention to the ‘morally virtuous’ attacker’s support for wars which have led to over 1m people losing their lives.

Identity politics has played into the war lobby’s hands. The neocons and Blairites are able to pose as ‘progressives’ who care deeply about the rights of women and gay people- while all the time pushing for wars which will kill women and gay people in great numbers'.

Some of those Clintonistas don't like RT because they have a habit of pointing out that the US and the UK are in the Middle East for selfish strategic reasons (as are the Russians and the Chinese of course) and not the reasons they claim.

And every time RTE want commentary they go to the UK government think-tank Royal United Services Institute.

Anyone who still believes all these foreign wars are about human rights are seriously deluded its only about protecting western countries own interests don't forget about who they have supported in the past as long as you toe the line and act as a puppet for western interests you can be as brutal as you like(Saudi, Bahrain) if you refuse to do so you get destroyed(Iraq, Libya,Syria) with Iran possibly the next in line for attack its no coincidence that all the countries in that region that have been marked for regime change have refused to act as puppets of western governments and their interests and were all enemies of Israel, so because of that they had to be destroyed despite them all being much more secular and having superior human rights records to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain who have both been left untouched, its neocon fantasy to believe any of these wars have ever been about protecting human rights.
