All employed people can be subject to revenue inspections, who will comb through their expenses and make the person being inspected justify EVERY SINGLE Euro............except for our elite politicians. The TDs' expenses are not subject to scrutiny by the taxman. Imagine that........different rules for our elite. Who came up with this unfair system, and who is going to justify it??

Nothing to see here.
According to today's Examiner:
Sources at Leinster House confirmed last night that Revenue officials had finished a two-week trawl of spending records by the Oireachtas.
Sources last night said it was doubtful there were any tax issues or “skeletons in the closet”.

But did they check out all the loans made to Oireachtas members?

There is one T.D in Leinster they should look very closely at!

I can understand how self employed people could have a fear of the revenue, but this constant fear mongering in the media that we should all be terrified of revenue officials is ridiculous.
Why would anybody in the paye system, who doesn't have some second under the table income have to fear, nothing that's what.

what complaints procedure do you have with the revenue commissioners ?. Is there an independent body you can complain to, if you are unhappy with their dealing with you ?

Just run a name through the Property Registration Authority Search Facility.

It will cost you €65 per name!

This is just window-dressing by Revenue, part of their new 'get tough' image.
