Jaysus, Silvio, St. Paul had nothing on you! Although the road to Damascus is, literally and metaphorically, a very dangerous one these days :)

Speakers from the CPSU, UNITE, INMO, IMO and the 24/7 Alliance will be in attendance and a Q & A seesion will follow.

Theatre Q, Newman Building, UCD, Belfield at 7 pm...
7.00pm in Belfield! That's outrageous. What are all the CPSU members going to do about their childcare costs? And what about those working up their day and a half flexi? And then all those poor divils that could live up to 45km away - that's a 90km round trip, if they go home first. And the busser, when you've only 28c to live on each month after you've paid all your bills! Outbloodyrageous.

I read the agreement and saw the wholesale free for all on my current T & C's of employment. Its a complete stitch up for the Civil Service...
The only unions that really matter in the vote on CPAII are SIPTU and Impact - what's there current thoughts on how they'll vote?

Read the TUI motions already passed and see the irrelevance of the above.

Not true.

There's no majority will going to be imposed by ICTU on those who vote No.

The TUI have signalled that they'll leave should that be the case.

Unless other unions follow the TUI's stance then it will be for nought.

And CPSU members are allegedly the least impacted by this deal....
Allegedly is right.

This agreement gives management the green light to remove flexi, get paid nothing extra for working on Saturdays, potentially doubling the redeployment distance to 90km (one way) and introduces the proesptec of compulsory redundancy as a reality for the first time in the Civil Service (not sure about other areas of the PS...
