Nice to AGS are 'doing their jobs'.

'We refuse to pay' - Volunteers fined

These people were not blocking rush hour traffic, it was ten to ten at night.

More easy victims of the grubby, grasping guardians of the exchequer.

Given that they are by far the highest paid police force in Europe and surely the world averaging around €65K per year not factoring in the €30K-€40K pension contribution, they should be making, for their eventual pensions, how can they possibly understand what ordinary people have to go through, they cannot!
And let us not forget they were threatening an illegal strike cliaming new entrants were earning only €23K per year!
Patten Commission needed to disband them and start again!

This looks like some kind of process fvck up and when it gets to court the judge will do whatever so they wont have to pay. I'd imagine its just in the system which requires it to move through same system. Unfortunate situation. I hope it ends well for them.

One would expect that most reasonably intelligent people would have the cop-on to realise that it might be prudent to have a quiet word with a member of An GS before parking in front of our Capital City's most prominent building at night time.

So well done to the gardaí; but what a pity a that the self-important do-gooders weren't clamped!

They were fined for illegal parking! Feeding the homeless as per your subheading, is disingenuous!
Were they not feeding the homeless? Were they shopping using a disabled car park?

If you are so gung ho about this issue, have you complained about AGS illegal parking outside Pearse St. station.

'We've been doing this since November 2015 and we've built up a relationship with the guards. Normally they would come up and ask us to move along, it would only happen the odd time, maybe three times a month.

"On the night we were fined, nobody came up to us at all."

......"Normally they would come up and ask us to move along...",
So - once again donning the persona of a person of average intelligence - it appears that they had plenty of warning and were well aware that they shouldn't be doing it.

Thats gas that they never saw the Gardai that night doesnt surprise me in the least because our Capital city must be one of the most unpoliced city centers in Europe.
