It's started. Honestly, it's time to call out these bozos. Their heroine Hillary has gone down in battle and The Irish Media is almost as one in nailing their anti-Trump colours to the mast.Hell hath no fury like the Liberal media scorned. If the first couple of days is anything to go by then the Trump presidency is destined to be the gift that keeps on giving for those of us who take extreme pleasure in seeing the groupthink of the Irish media exposed.Whether it's today Irish Times idiotorial, sorry, editorial which hilariously quoted Jesus Christ in berating the American people thus "They know not what they do" (OTT much?) to a ranting Brenda Power fuming about the election of a "sexist pig/sex offender" it's time these liberal agenda driven phonies were logged and ridiculed in a manner that fits their fraudulence. Let's be having yiz

For sure-am about to watch a repeat of last night's Prime Time. Saw professional friend of Hill Niall O Dowd being interviewed at one stage. He wasn't wearing a black armband but can only imagine what horrors await.

It's not so much an anti-Trump bias as a pro-Clinton one. Every second journo or broadcaster referred to 'Hillary' (like they're best friends), or embarrassingly 'Hillbot' (that was Chris O'Donoghue on NewsTalk).

It was a howl today watching venal gobdaws like Fintan O'Toole and Una Mulally implode under the force of their pseudo-liberal ideologies. The IT editorial was a new low in pontification (if it was possible to sink lower than supporting the invasion of Iraq).

Trump is a buffoon. But the Irish media's craven and uncritical lionising of Clinton is merely further evidence of their inability in the round to think independently and critically. I mean where was the sustained criticism of Coveney for his ludicrous first time buyers' (read builders') subsidy.

No one likes Clinton either or hadn't you noticed. There is nothing wrong with calling Trump out for his many many flaws and failures as a human being and president elect.

Two thing -

1. Criticising somebody for boasting about sexual assault, does not make one a liberal, it merely suggests that one is not a horrible creep

2. Why do you give a fnck what the Irish media thinks of US politicians?

They'll come round fast enough.

Because I live here and my eyes and ears are being carpetbombed by their patronising liberal bias.

He didn't boast about sexual assault he used the word let which implies consent. In his mind he thinks they are agreeing. Furthermore we do not know of any instance where it has been proved Trump assaulted any woman.;

He would like a media that at least tries to be impartial.

The thread concerns the rabid anti Trump bias in the Irish media.

It is expressed in two modes.

[1] An over concentration on Mr Trumps personal failings .
[2] A totally excessive and fawning coverage of his adversaries and the ignoring of their personal failings.

The Irish state owned and operated RTE has been the cheerleader in all this.

It's called groupthink.

Trump has said some crass and disgusting things in public, but is that worse than "commemorating" 1916 or WW1 or the "war of independence" - which all involved murder for political purposes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink

.... occurs within a group of people in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision-making outcome. Group members try to minimize conflict and reach a consensus decision without critical evaluation of alternative viewpoints by actively suppressing dissenting viewpoints, and by isolating themselves from outside influences.
