Are many of you interested in joining far-left parties?

Have worked since I left education, I pay for everything myself including my rent, sick to death of spongers.
It's the spongers in the Dáil that you should be concerned abut about not the working poor or the less well off.

Most SP and SWP types are wealthy trust-fund kids. Very few of them have ever experienced poverty or worked long hours minimum wage. No, they don't really believe the shyte they come out with and never expect to actually have to deliver on any of it. The most charitable view of them is that they are having a teenage strop to annoy Daddy that somehow carries on late into middle age.

They also have extremely murky and dubious sources of funding and organisation for all their myriad of cover names and trojans, and their disruptive and dishonest wrecking behaviour always has the net effect of dispersing, dividing or poisoning the public perception of change or protest movements. So the less charitable view is that they are an establishment-directed counter-gang whose actual purpose is to prevent effective protest against the status quo.

Then there's the minor matter of the Socialist Party being actual freakin Unionists whose official policy is to dismantle the Republic and rejoin the UK :rolleyes2:

I wouldn't trust any of them in a screaming fit, and I'm about as left-wing as you can get. But the SP/SWP are just toxic.
You will never hear a commie in Ireland mouth off about Inheritance tax
being to low.
Plus they want to flood the country with cheep labour for their Daddies factories. These groups are make up of Rich kids. Middleclass types in state jobs who lead them and genuine people who have being damaged from grinding poverty in their youth who are the rich kids pets.

I've heard of such accusations being levied against PBP, and I don't know for sure how true the claims are in their case, but the leaders of the SP are generally working class and not middle class bar maybe in their youth section which I don't know a lot about.

The SP/CWI/Solidarity only have 5 councillors on the island now and I believe none in Britain and the only councillor they have in the North included among the five did not even stand publicly as a SP candidate in May.

Sounds ominous for them in our GE then.
Yeah. They have 3 TD's currently and I heard that their LE results in Cork North Central were very bad so Mick Barry may have a tough time getting reelected. They only have 1 councillor in Dublin West now also (the constituency Joe Higgins was a TD for for years).

On call 24/7. Every whack job in the constituency thinking they own a piece of you.

Horrible job.
Nonsense , TDs have the easy life and a nice handy income they wouldn't get anywhere else.

They just ignore the whack jobs.

Who are the spongers? Would you regard the beneficiary of your rent a sponger?

You sound unhappy in your work. Maybe you should pack it in and do nothing much for a while then turn in a new direction regarding work. I guess you'd then regard yourself as a sponger for the period of transition? See how the brainwashing works? It traps and ensnares you. To who's advantage is that? Hardly you.

Very happy and fulfilled in my work, I pay my own way, I don't ask the State to do it.
You don’t ask the state to do it but it’s more than likely they do it for you without you directly asking. However, I bet you vote in accordance to what political entity will bestow you with the most.

Maybe you’re a public sector work or a member of the more lucrative professions, you pay your ‘union’ dues and they do the asking for you. Maybe you’re a farmer who gets EU direct payments. Maybe you’re a private sector worker that serves the general population or better still the owner of such an enterprise that depends on the pool of money slushing about. Or maybe you do work in the export sector but even there, grants and such like are asked for and are given. If you are in that sector you are propping up the many in receipt of welfare, the public sector and a large chunk of the private sector it has to be said and I do have sympathy for you, but we all make choices. That’s why I say quit moaning and change.

Maybe you might answer if you think the beneficiary of your rent is a sponger?

Landlords hand back about 60% in taxes, usc etc, they contribute to the national purse. Whereas dole jockeys live off us all.

Just to repeat that I work, from my income I pay for everything, no assistance, no handouts and by the way I ain't complaining, I am independent, as to who I might vote for then not the " handout and whinger parties", you know Sinn Fein and they ones with lots of letters in their names that keep changeing name but are Communists.
