Has our expectation of law and order become so low that an armed man can run amok in West Dublin, rob six cars at gun point and be chased around by half the cops in Dublin for 8 hours and there's no comment here?

We're more obsessed about Gerry Adams not knowing the price of a bottle of wine or Ronan Mullens being misquoted by the press than the safety of the citizens and the availability of fully automatic weapons on the streets.

During the summer we were graced with photos of Noirin's new elite armed response unit, but 3 months later some lad manages to give them the runaround for 8 hours.

Good point.

Great bravery shown by the Boys and Girls in Blue.
Stop pulling the piss.

They clearly tried their best but either didn't have the equipment or the training

Keystone Cops comes to mind.
Mind you, you hardly expect FFG's corrupt police force to actually act as a proper police force now, do you?

I think that answers the question of whether we are prepared for two or three jihadist nutters armed to the teeth.

Unequivocally no is the answer.

Well that means our resident far right or pretend left won't have any comments. They don't turn up when it's just about some punk terrorising the working class.

OK - what exactly should they have done then?

What would you have done?

There's a video on dehinternet showing his eventual arrest. About 20 cops run in to the shopping centre armed to the teeth and a few seconds later he walks out the same door and is finally tackled to the ground by two unarmed garda including a banner!
He must have hid around the corner or something.
It just reminded me of the spoon sketch in the life of Brian.

You have succinctly answered your own question! For what it is worth, the major part of the p.ie population is more interested in the sporting value of Irish politics. It's like a bloody football match; win at any cost. Reason has left the building quite some time ago.

Enda got two terms as taoiseach due to some under the table shystering with FF and the inept independents, Halligan, Magrath, Zappone &co.!

WE got a budget through without any issues merely because it was spin. I'm waiting fore some journalist reporting on the empty chairs in the various clinics and A&E in our *cough* centres of excellence!

Jerry Adams, in the eyes of his detractors, is committing daily murders. Leo's socks are a wow. The ladder in the ditch photo showed his deep concern. Regina tells the moustachio chap t het FF are not to be trusted. Sheesh, why bother.

It's a game. Fun, fun, fun.
