In a gesture of solidarity and no doubt also to highlight what a ruthless C*nt Obama really is under all the silver tongued lies, Julian Assange, scourge of Washington Elites, has offered to submit to US DOJ if Obama pardons Chelsea Manning.

Chelsea Manning has been made an example of for his whistleblowing about US atrocities in the illegal Iraq war and he was given 35 years in prison for embarrassing empire by what has turned out to be the worst US government for punishing whistleblowers ever. Manning has attempted suicide twice now and is clearly no risk to the american people, but clearly Obama has no conscience left to speak of.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will agree to be extradited to the United States to face possible espionage charges if President Obama grants clemency to military document leaker Chelsea Manning.

Manning, a transgender former U.S. solider, is serving a 35-year sentence for handing 700,000 sensitive military and diplomatic documents to WikiLeaks.

'If Obama grants Manning clemency Assange will agree to US extradition despite clear unconstitutionality of DoJ (US Department of Justice) case,' WikiLeaks wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

Its quite possible that Obama will call Assange's bluff
Doubt it...

What Assange is doing in his arrogance is to try and get the US justice system up to and including the POTUS to engage in bargaining and to participate in using a convict as a bargaining chip...

Regardless of whether anyone thinks Manning was convicted fairly or not isn't the issue.

I'm sure Assange is totally aware of all this and is confident it won't happen which is why he's made this disingenuous attention seeking offer.

Assange is like Trump... a self obsessed narcissistic tool.

Plus Manning could be eligible for parole after just 8 years anyway... which is only 4 years away now...

There was already some possibility of Obama reducing Manning's sentence, but I fear that Assange has just destroyed any chance of this now happening.

Chelsea Manning received a sentence which was grossly disproportionate to the offence she was convicted of. The court threw out the charge of aiding the enemy, and found her guilty of five charges of violating the espionage act and theft of documents as well as four minor related charges.

The military conceded that no one had died as a result of her disclosures, and that no intelligence operations had been compromised. She got ten years more than the period of time in which many of the documents she released would have been automatically declassified.

To put this in context, Chelsea Manning got longer than the marine who gave the KGB the identities of CIA agents and floor plans of the Embassies in Moscow and Vienna.

She was punished for embarrassing the US by releasing film of cockpit chatter by US pilots when they shot people dead in the street.

Her sentence should be commuted. There are humanitarian grounds for believing she will not survive a prolonged incarceration and she was never convicted of treason.

Assange is a fame-whore and by intervening like this he has made it less likely that Obama will pardon Manning, as we are told he was about to do.

Perhaps the thread title should be changed to something like 'Arrogant d!ckhead Julian Assange screws over Chelsea Manning'

Obama was NOT about to pardon Manning. He's not that nice a guy, sorry.

Consider your logic here.
Look how much trouble the US has gone to to try and skewer wikileaks in the past, and if Obama was going to pardon Manning already, why not just go ahead with it and kill two birds? win win.

Why should offering the prospect of nailing a known irritant to empire as a bonus make it LESS likely?

the fact is it was never on the cards. Manning was given a public punishment and made an example of to deter future whistleblowers because the US don't want their evil doings highlighted.

And before we go full Orwellian retard here, remember who exactly it is that sentenced Manning so harshly in the first place and kept him in a cell being essentially tortured for a year prior to the trial!!!

yes folks, it's OBAMAs administration, the worst ever for attacking whistleblowers in history

Assange knows that the conspiriloons will argue that Obama was never going to pardon Manning. There has been a huge international campaign mounted in respect of the seriously flawed sentencing she received.

Assanges attempt to focus attention on himself and not on that speaks to his own narcissistic delusions of grandeur.

What's your point?

That only suggests an even greater degree of cynicism and attention seeking narcisism in Assange's 'offer'.

the point is why be so angry with assange. He isn't the one keeping Manning in prison. Obama is.
In fact he himself is being indefinitely imprisoned in the ecuadorian embassy by Obama and his UK poodles, under threat of extradition to the US on espionage charges which carry a death sentence.

We've come a long way from the days of the leak of the vietnam papers.
In those days, anti war citizens en masse stood up on the streets against their murdering governments.
Now useful idiots en masse on the internet take the part of murdering governments against a few brave individuals willing to challenge empire.

He is doing the exact equivalent of Madonna offering to give blow jobs to Democrat voters. An offer which is never likely to be taken up and if it were would amount to suborning the vote :)

There is a massive international campaign in support of Manning and it does not need fame-whores piggybacking on it like Assange.

He is nothing but a cheap distraction. He wont get Chelsea out of jail.

And that is the priority. Not taking cheap pot-shots at Obama.

Obama is not the keeping Manning in prison.

F*** Off Assange you arrogant attention seeking tool...
My thoughts precisely. As far as I'm concerned Assange can stay holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy until Prime Minister Corbyn grants him the Freedom of London and a Victory Parade through the sleazier streets of Soho.

Why exactly are they "conspiraloons"?

This campaign has been going for years with little or no media coverage. Why would it suddenly be taken seriously by Obama now?

The attempts to whitewash the butcher Obama here and exonerate him from his central part in the treatment of Manning are pathetic. His past record would suggest that it's highly unlikely he ever intended to pardon Manning. His priorities lie elsewhere. Sorry to burst the bubble of all you people who were taken in by his silver tongue, and still need to believe in "hope and change" but alas, Obama is not some great guy under it all that feels the pain of the likes of chelsea manning. He's just another sociopathic puppet. The establishment knew what he was when they backed his campaign with so much money. And their investments paid off handsomely.

He is the only president to have been at war every single day of his two terms FFS.

Do you folks honestly believe the guy who brought drone warfare to a new level, toppled Libya, plotted a coup in Honduras and Ukraine, supported and armed jihadist proxies in Syria and coined the cynical phrase "we tortured some folks" has had a Damascene conversion at the eleventh hour, recanted his evil ways and suddenly become a sensitive puppy lover who cares about the plight of poor Chelsea Manning??
