Yes Folks from today we can now (hopefully) be proud of our Navy as the LÉ Niamh departs for foreign waters to combat Illegal Immigration

The penny seems to have finally dropped with EU Governments (none more than our own) that 'rescuing' illegal migrants and bringing them to Europe

- only encourages more to dip their toe in the waters of the Med and try their luck

+ make vast profits for the criminal People Trafficking Gangs...

The first Irish naval vessel to take part in a major operation targeting human traffickers heads for the Mediterranean today.

The LÉ Niamh will be taking part in Operation Sophia, the EU mission to capture boats used by people smugglers, and return migrants to the Libyan authorities.

It would be nice to know that those of us who campaigned to change the nature of these operations through Online Media

- and I personally did some leafleting in Town as well

- played a small part in all this

- even if it was just a drop in the Ocean.....

Now that's something our navy can finally be proud of.

The Royal Navy withdrew from the Med a couple of years ago, saying the same thing - the more roads you build, the more traffic will fill them.

Suds, Cove, and Zappy will be devastated.

And what will happen the immigration quangos/clappys - will they still be funded by taxpayers even though no more bedraggled arrivals on the shores of the EU.

About time the use of our Navy in the 'rescuing' of illegal migrants from the Med, and thus facilitating people smugglers, was finally stopped.

A bit late for many EU countries, whose societies have been destroyed by Merkel and individuals like the above.

we can thank Brexit and Catalonia for our useless ruling elites finally listening to the masses on immigration, but anyway its too little too late. Rip the EU. And glad its finally in its death rattle.

Wonder how well this will pan out.

Complex issues often don't play as people expect....

Better to do the right thing later rather than never.

It makes you wonder how truly horrific the situation in Europe has become with these migrants for the sudden U turn. We all know that lots of information has been suppressed to keep the public on side but they can't hide it for ever.

I'd say it has more to do with German election results.

Just reading in the Examiner about how Aongus o'snotty the Shinner defence spokesperson thinks that stopping poeple and returning them to the beaches etc will make them worse off than if they died a horrible drowning death.

aongus o'snooty is horrified because "They are put into appalling detention centres."

Well Shinner snowflake these people are criminals because they try to cross borders into Europe illegally so they deserve a bit of detention and to answer some questions about who they are and where they are from!
