A rather powerful earthquake has shook the Iran/Pakistan border area, with reports of aftershocks heard as distantly as India and Qatar. Thankfully, the surrounding area appears to be mostly uninhabited desert, but the city of Zahedan, with a population of half a million is within 125 miles of the epicentre.

I didn't want to be the one who said it, but will be interesting to note how the coverage of the respective stories unfolds in the coming days.

Allah must be displeased. Well, either that or the margins of two convergent tectonic plates meet in that area.

If the locals aren't of white European stock nobody is interested.
I am sure the other Iranian/Pakistani locals are interested
There are quite a few of them you know - and they are even capable of cleaning it up
You don't have to feel guilty about every natural disaster that happens in the entire world

Well they were perfectly capable of clearing up the 'quake in the nearby citadel of Bam in 2003.
