The sleazy Green/FFers are happy to promote all electric joke "motor cars"

For any idiot that thinks Reva G-Wiz's joke electric toy cars are suitable for road use
please think again.

They do not even have to pass an Eu car safety test, they are mobile death traps on the road

This was the horrific scene when an electric car fell apart in a crash that killed the driver.
The 47-year-old woman was thrown clear of the Reva G-Wiz when it hit a garden wall in Hendon last night at about 6.45pm."

These heaps of junk have no place on any road, they need to be banned now

So the electricity doesn't create a force field to protect them from accidents? What a swindle! Those Greens won't be happy until we are all dead.

:mad:How sad is it that somebody would use a road death to knock the government?
As far as I can remember, cars with petrol, diesel, and hybrids can cause a death if crashed!

Condolences to the family of the person that died, apologies for the crass comments.

In Spain they have these little run arounds that look like Smart cars but only have a small lawnmower engine in them. They're basically for getting around the locality and older people love them. They're cheap, cost next to nothing to run and best of all you don't even need a full license to drive them and tax/insurance is very low.

We should get them here.

Presumably since you're floating the thesis, you have data on the crash rates between car types, survivability rates et al?

If so, please present them.

If not, what you talkin bout Willis?

Good point. In the interests of road safety the Greens should be promoting this fine beast of a motor, the heaviest commercial car of all time, the 1961 Lincoln Continental

No worries of that beauty being ripped in 2.

I wouldn't say they're all that safe. JFK was killed in one of them. Okay, there was a guy shooting at him at the time, but still.......

I agree but you can guarantee that they'll need to be insured here at an extremely high cost for the engine size. Then there will be road tax, VRT, etc......:?

I think the Continental was a bullet magnet. Oswald was atually shooting pigeons. Twas a terrible accident, like Cheney's one. ;)

Pretty much. Those ones wouldn't catch on here much, given the motor taxation rules. Too expensive for purpose.

Hell, a few years ago I tried to set up insurance on an electric vehicle and couldn't find a single company that would insure them. Unless it was from a select few manufacturers, all European.

As for the snapped in two electric car, I've seen a few similarly sized petrol-engined cars also 'snapped in two' in a crash.
Anyway, Ireland doesn't have a similar rating for those vehicles, here they would legally be cars, not quadracycles, and would have to come up to EU standards to allow their use here.

Reva had plans to export them to the EU but it would have put the price of the car up by at least double to put them up to EU standards.

The joke Reva G-Wiz quadracycles "cars" shold be banned off the road as a serious danger to all road users, watch the video of a regular type EU car saferty test.

If you are still happy to drive one you would need to be an lunatic, or a Green party supporter.
