The MoS has dumbed down and you have bought it. The jouno, if we can call him one, has generated a story out of nothing. He was having a pint. He is entitled to have a pint. He was not celebrating.

Do you have an opinion beyond that offered by sunday rags?

He's entitled to nothing until he gets out of office. Even then, all senior government officials should be investigated by the gards about what they really knew about the banks over the past two years.

Actually, I think any politician of any party is entitled to go for a drink with his friends and not be harassed by a MoS scumbag.
Not after ruining our economy for generation and getting the IMF in. Normally, I might agree with you.

This is rubbish. "Minister has pint in pub" is not a story and the paper should be ashamed that it hasn't anything better to write about. Not good enough.

What can you expect from the Mail? It fostered anti Irish hatred in UK for years. Now the Irish buy the paper and quote its contents.

O'Keefe knows that he'll be out of a job in a few months. That pressure no doubt is getting to him but of cousre he'll have a pension worth 100k or more to console him. All FF ministers and TDs also know in their hearts that they're traitors. Being traitors won't bother them per se but the fact that they have been revealed as traitors must cause them some concern.

Never thought I'd defend a FF Minister, but that sort of tripe gives journalism a bad name.

The real question should be,

Why were you reading the MOS- the normal procedure is

swipe- wipe - flush and then wash your hands.

Only a knacker would say F off - a former minister of education no less. He is supposed to be a minister, but I wouldn't expect any better from that man.

He read this rag and rushed on to p.ie to get his very own thread, delighted that it would be well received. I can see it now, his hands shaking with expectation because he had his very own story to share.:p

You guys are treating FF like they are normal politicians. They have proven over and over again that they don't deserve to be left alone when "socialising". Remember the Galway tent and Bertie's "memory lapses"???

Agree but don't care. The more unpleasant life is for Fianna Fáil figures large and small the better.

My worst fear is that this non-story could be counterproductive in the slightest to the all-out effort to bring down Fianna Fáil.

I don't think on its own it'll make the tiniest difference either way.
