The BBC has removed a story titled "Liam Adams facing trial on sex charges" from its Northern Ireland News web page. I wonder why. Is this an example of biased reporting by the BBC? The tactic being to put a story out for the absolute minimum amount of time that they can get away with and then remove it.

Oddly enough a story regarding the same trial has disappeared from the RTE News website too. Are the "national broadcasters" up to the same thing? Google searches for 'BBC Liam Adams' or 'RTE Liam Adams' shows that both stories did exist, but that they don't now. I smell fish.

Here's an extract from the BBC story:

Liam Adams facing trial on sex charges

The brother of Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams is alleged to have abused his own daughter while her mother was in hospital giving birth.

Liam Adams allegedly went into his daughter's room and raped her, Belfast Crown Court was told.

Mr Adams denies 10 counts of rape, indecent assault and gross indecency.

The offences were allegedly committed between 1977 and 1984.

The court was told that after Aine Adams told her mother about what had allegedly happened to her when she was a child, the two women went to confront her father at a house in Buncrana, County Donegal in 1986, accompanied by Gerry Adams.

However, Liam Adams denied the allegations.

Opening the Crown case against Mr Adams, from Bernagh Drive in Belfast, the prosecuting barrister took the jury through the ten count indictment.

He said there were many occasions when Aine's mother left the home and it was then, "when the defendant was left alone with Aine Adams, she alleges she was abused"."

I saw the original - and it is indeed strange that the story has been removed.
We can add UTV to the mix. A search on their very own website reveals that this story existed on April 9th, but once again it has now gone:

"Adams confronted brother over rape claim - UTV Live News

1 day ago ... Opening the Crown case against Liam Adams, from Bernagh Drive in Belfast, prosecuting QC Ciaran Murphy warned the jury of six men and ...

www.u.tv/.../Adams.../4ee2fc41-2f71-44d6-b0fd-d1018fb69a5a"

What exactly is up? Three major news organisations post stories on April 9th and the very next day all three have withdrawn their stories? Has there been some sort of a publication ban? And to add to that, is it one of those bans that the news organisations aren't allowed to talk about?

Could it be legal reasons?

You wouldn't want to a court case against a republican collapse, would you?

Looks very like a super injunction situation.
