You do not realise that this is an opportunity for the Brits to have an ad hoc holiday and a celebration of being British?

Happy that they would do so. BBC news should stick to matters that are actually newsworthy. The BBC is covering this event on 2 stations WTF. The news station should be left to get on with its primary function.

The BBC is simply feeding the insatiable Yankee thirst for all things royal, especially weddings, it's as if they never became independent, not like Ireland

And for those in any part of Ireland whose definition of irishness includes a celebration of Britishness.

Is this going to become another reactionary anti multi-culture thread.

Move on people. A sense of Britishness is an identity that is an option open to irish people

Are any Irish people amongst the guests? There is a famous one who lives right there but no sign yet

I am ambivalent to the royals, and will certainly not be watching it. But to be fair it is a major British event being watched by hundreds of million around the globe, so it is news in the UK.

And after all, The BBC is the British national broadcaster. Complaining about it's national news covering a royal wedding smacks of going looking for something to complain about.

They love this shìt. If they are paying for it let them off.

The next few months is going to be nothing but bad news for the UK so give them their day.
