Just heard this announced on the radio, Very sad news. What a great singer and entertainer and an absolute gentleman and Gentle Giant of a man.

- no doubt though he was HUGE in 70s on the Country circuit.

Way back, an Irish friend in noo yoik told me about Big Tom's first gig in NYC. Queues around the block. Sell-out.

However, closer up, the queues were full of hippy types with long hair and fleas. How could that be? They were attracted by a band called the Mainliners.
