Bill Maher wants the Democrats to start winning again

Bill Maher is begging liberals, especially those in the Hollywood circuit, to stop apologizing for every misstep they make, no matter how harmless. Some recent celebrity apologies from the likes of Michael Keaton (for his Hidden Fences mixup at the Golden Globes which say him saying how people feel is the only thing that matters) and Hilary Duff (for her Halloween costume as a puritan settler ), Maher made his frustration clear saying while Liberals where busy figuring out who was offended, or who might have been fat shamed Donald Trump was busy winning the White House and the Repubicans both houses of congress and 2/3 of the state legislatures and Governorships. While Liberals were busy taking Steve Martin down a peg for tweeting he though Carrie Fisher was beautiful the Republicans were taking over all the arms of government and now control America in depth, dont even mind the White House or Congress. They control it down to State level and add in the entire apparatus like the CIA or the appointment of the next Supreme Court judge.

In return Liberals managed to bully Justin Timberlake for cultural appopriation because he admired an African America.

Things like this don’t matter at all," Maher insisted. "What matters is that while you self-involved fools were policing the language at the Kids' Choice Awards, a madman talked his way into the White House. What matters is that while liberals were in a contest to see who could be the first to call out fat-shaming, the Tea Party has been busy taking over schools boards. Stop protecting your virgin ears and start noticing you’re getting ************************************ in the ass."

Democrats have gone from the party that used be about people to being about feelings he says.

Bill Maher on form as usual. Will American Liberals listen. They have woken up in a Trump world, dont like, feel offended, but find that the government doesnt care. Reality has crashed in and its refusing to be fat shamed off the scene.

He's an odd fish is Maher.

My mothers family were Maher, maybe he's a fourth cousin, twice removed.

Trumps not a madman. Nor is he surrounded by them. Maher is kinda right about the Dems, but ignoring the Clinton effect ...

I wish people would stop conflating liberals and Democrats.

And while I sometimes like Maher, I often find him a bit off-putting.

And and, I don't like EITHER party. The only reason I'd support Democrats is for some balance. But neither party is great and both are untrustworthy and self-serving.

And no, being better than Trump ≠ good.

You could be in a coma and you'd be better than if you'd been shot repeatedly in the head. Neither would be something worth aiming for.

It's good that you're finally confident in your right-wingery and not pretending to be some sort of leftie environmentalist anymore

So did the mafia in 1960.

The problem for the Democrats is that while they need Bill Maher ( & therefore pretend to like him ) the ignore a lot of his more powerful arguments because he is far more principled that the USDP leadership.

Maher has ex-Muslims on his show, & they tend to make devastating arguments against USDP policy.

You like the labels, and to point your finger. Thing is, you're rarely right, bless you.

Worth keeping in mind lads:

So, how can you make a relationship work with this seemingly impossible sign? First, never insult Libra's intelligence. Second, give her all the time she needs to make up her mind. Yes, it is taxing and time consuming, but a happy Libra is so much more delightful to be around than one who pouts. Third, and finally, take heart in the fact that Libra is very kind and caring; this sign wants to make sure that each decision benefits everyone. Now, doesn't it feel wonderful to have someone as considerate as that in your life?

I made this point some months back.
Western liberals decide what's right based on their feelings, rather than basic common sense.

It's why the likes of lesbian Zappone thinks it's right for us to import muslims, even though they'd kill her given half a chance.
Ohhh ... but it feels like the right thing to do.
Muppets.

His claim is ridiculous on so many levels. It ignores the rise of fake news, extreme rightwing propaganda parroted by Piesters, corporatism, and a host of other issues.

The constant stream of "SJWs are ruining America" stories out there, including those from Bill Maher, are right-wing propaganda. It's divide and conquer at its most basic. It's the billionaires and the politicians (and those who carry water for them in hopes of biting off a tiny bit of their power for themselves) perpetrating the false notion that a small group of minorities who speak out on social and cultural issues are somehow so influential and powerful that they could ruin an entire country.

Meanwhile, the billionaires and the politicians are ACTUALLY ruining the entire country. But hey, let's get mad at little 21-year-old confused babydyke Meghan who wrote on her Tumblr that she was really upset when a comedian used the word "tranny."

For the American Democrats think Irish Labour Party, the parallels are amazing. Both think being PC is more important than the folk are are meant to represent. Both have become more interested in pandering to middle class know it all types and celebs than working folks and families. It's the rock both will perish on and yet still after crushing defeats neither can actually see it and both are still content to polish their halos and claiming credit and kudos for what was actually betrayal of their stated core beliefs.

Its creeping into Ireland as well, see the thread started earlier about some stupid guidelines issued by the NHS on sensitive language at work. People actually took it seriously and started ranting about how this is why Donald Trump won the election.

The one good thing to have come out of this Trump fiasco is that it is being revealing of some people's character and real views.

To paraphrase that great political philosopher Sideshow Bob, there's lots of people out there who pretend to be liberal and socially conscious, but when it comes down to it, what they really want is a strongman leader who will slash taxes, brutalise criminals and rule them like a king.

In a few years time, when this disaster has come crashing down around all our ears, there's going to be a lot of revisionism and people pretending they always opposed the orange-faced ogre. But the rest of us will remember where they stood and what they supported

Nope. The incoherent rant fest last weekend was organised by Planned Parenthood, George Soros and a host of celebrity twats whose only real worry is the hefty wallets they lug about the place.

Great so, another poster who no longer supports democracy.

Ye kids are throwing all your toys out of your prams, I guess it's the easier option.

He won, calm the fùck down, apply your brain to constructive opposition. Or is it to much like hard work eh ...
