Bank of Ireland has announced that it is to close all bank accounts belonging to the IpSC
Although the bank have not cited a reason, it seems likely that it is related to their anti-semitic BDS campaigns which seek to destroy Israel's economy - despite the many Palestinians employed in Israel.
Among other problems that will arise, the racist group will now be forced to get all donors to change their monthly standing orders to a new account - many of whom will not bother.
Well done Bank of Ireland - hopefully no other bank will accept their business.

On an entirely different point I bet you're loving BoI's new negative interest rate policy. Very fair I think.

Banks rarely make decisions in the common interest.

Ha ha! I love it!:lol:

This has really made my Sunday. I'm deffo moving my account to BoI and I'm going to tell them why.

Well done, BOI. People can support Palestinians. But turning up at football matches to intimidate Israeli fans, that's racism, pure and simple.

BoI are not some bastion of ideology. They are a bank.

Attributing moral action to a bank is like attributing a moral compass to a paedophile.

It's probably owned by Jews now too after the 2008 crash anyway.

And a hate group is what they are. Turning up to harrass Israel fans, football players, film producers, even a children's sailing event FFS.

The wonder is that they've been tolerated for so long.

If there was a group out there doing it to Irish people, there'd be uproar worldwide.

The solution is to set up a socialist bank.

Irish people aren't engaging in ethnic cleansing and are not at war with nearly all their neighbours.

Are there Irish people murdering children on a beach? It seems the zionazis have a far reach. It won't stop people with morals boycotting Israeli goods.

It was leaked that the new Hasbra tactic is to call ALL support for Palestinians antisemetic semitic. And here it is.

Why BoI would close a political movements account is interesting and a potentially very slippery slope, especially if pressure was applied. Banks have a very strict set of rules about political decisions.

There are a lot more Palestinian supporters than Israeli ones out there, from a business perspective it's very ballsy.

There must be something promised to BoI or some brown envelopes being passed around. They forget where the BDS form of peaceful protest originated .

This bullying by Israel and it's assault of freedom of expression and speech is not going to do Israel any good. Why don't they just stop the Occupation and siege of Gaza and start taking the Palestinian's wish for their own homeland on their own land seriously. They are spending millions every year bribing and haranguing governments, the media and institutions to stifle any legitimate criticism of Israel's policies.

The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (also known as BDS and the BDS Movement) is a global campaign attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel to comply with the stated goals of the movement: the end of Israel's occupation and colonization of Palestinian land and the Golan Heights, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and respect for the right of return of Palestinian refugees.

The word boycott entered the English language during the Irish "Land War" and derives eponymously from Captain Charles Boycott, the land agent of an absentee landlord,
who lived in Lough Mask House, near Ballinrobe in County Mayo, Ireland, who was subject to social ostracism organized by the Irish Land League in 1880.

As harvests had been poor that year, Lord Erne offered his tenants a ten percent reduction in their rents. In September of that year, protesting tenants demanded a twenty five percent reduction, which Lord Erne refused. Boycott then attempted to evict eleven tenants from the land. Charles Stewart Parnell, in a speech in Ennis prior to the events in Lough Mask, proposed that when dealing with tenants who take farms where another tenant was evicted, rather than resorting to violence, everyone in the locality should shun them.

While Parnell's speech did not refer to land agents or landlords, the tactic was first applied to Boycott when the alarm was raised about the evictions. Despite the short-term economic hardship to those undertaking this action, Boycott soon found himself isolated – his workers stopped work in the fields and stables, as well as in his house. Local businessmen stopped trading with him, and the local postman refused to deliver mail.

The concerted action taken against him meant that Boycott was unable to hire anyone to harvest the crops in his charge.

I wonder how long these accounts will remain closed for when thousands of Palestinian sympathisers begin closing their BOI accounts and moving to the competition.

Risk, BOI said - well yes, a big risk, for them :)
How much money do lefty, hipsters and Shinners have in their bank accounts?
