A police officer has been shot on the Crumlin Road in north Belfast.
It is understood they were hit once in the arm.
It is believed a number of shots were fired from a car.
It is understood the incident happened close to a petrol station at about 19.30 GMT.
Northern Ireland justice minister Claire Sugden has described the attack as "sickening".
DUP leader Arlene Foster condemned the shooting and said it was "the work of cowards".

The old ones are the best.
Blaming the Brits for everything.

I hope the PSNI officer a speedy and quick recovery and hope the evil dissident baskets responsible are quickly jailed for life.

Lucky escape for the cop and hopefully they make a full recovery, however the continuation of nationalist jihadist terrorism highlights the lack of leadership in that community...

Those responsible deserve full condemnation. A return to armed actions is a retrograde step, and erects a barrier to the Nationalist/Republican objective.

Arlene Foster and the DUP also deserve full condemnation.

Why - what had they to do with the shooting?
According to Swords,
they supplied the boiler that fired the pellets.

They was a major driving force for a lot of gun clubs in Tyrone. At one point the brave Ian had 500 supporters paraded, waving firearm certificates. It give a lot of people the idea to get some legal guns.....

And what has this drivel* from 1981 to do with blaming Arlene Foster and the DUP for republicans shooting a copper in 2017?

*The "Firearms Certificates" were in reality Chinese takeaway menus .....
