I really hope john bruton will run in meath east in the next election, he is very respected by all the young Fg tds. once back in the dail he could be Taiseach again in a year or two.

He would really make a difference and bring some credibility back to government. There are few politicians about whom the same could be said. Plus, it would be one state car less required.

For Gods sake leave him where he is. A minister of Finance who brought down a government and lost power over the price of a pair of shoes. Born on a big farm educated in Clongowes, simply to grand to talk to the one socialist in the Dail on the evening of the vote.

Funny how thanks to Bertie, John Unionist Bruton looks like a stateman. Don't know why people get upset with Enda, FG haven't produced a decent leader in generations.

Whereas the last three FF leaders have resigned in disgrace, and the current one will resign after bankrupting the country. You're hardly in a position to lecture anyone about leadership.

He will certainly come in useful for après-toilet duties when Her Majesty arrives.

I can't see the point of having him in he Dail unless it's to led FG. He's probably the best leader the country had since Lemass, but it's a case of "been there, done that". I'd prefer to see him as the FG Presidential candidate.

FG leaders only become respected when they are gone ,with FF it is the opposite, they are great when in office and media back them, when they are gone they are exposed for what they are ! I recall Mama O Rourke imitating his laugh once in the dail.

Apart for FitzGerald, obviously, seen as a poor leader then, rated even poorer now.

Really. Tell me how many FG leaders have won re election. How many have won an overall majority in the Daíl. How man have won an election as the largest party? None. WT Costgrave won an overall majority with Cumman Na Gael.

Nope still there. I seen it the other day. When the issue was raised in the Daíl, Biffo as usual missed the bus and refused to comment. The ad shows how little dignity Berti has for himself or the office he once held.
