Former Fine Gael leader John Bruton did call a party colleague telling him to ease off raising the issue of garda corruption in the Dáil, the Morris Tribunal was told today.

A barrister, representing Jim Higgins MEP, said his client was requested to stop making representations for the McBrearty family who claimed they were subjected to a campaign of garda harassment

Shock!

Another case of an elected official doing a buddy a favour with no regard to justice whatsoever. How morally corrupt have we become?

Jim Higgins and Brendan Howlin were the only TDs who spoke out about the corrupt Gardaí in Donegal. Both were told to shut up by their party leaders. Every single party leader, and every Minister for Justice form the early 90s onwards KNEW and had DETAILED REPORTS on what was going on. They sat on it, denied it, tried to cover it up, until the stench got so bad even our corrupt gombeen shyster thieving lying amoeba-brained subhuman scumbags (also known as TDs for short) had to pretend to do something about it.

The end result of the Morris Tribunal? Two cops get suspended, a few others get transfers to other divisions, and nobody is found responsible. Fecking typical.

This country stinks.

If that was Fianna fail or Sinn Fein you can only imagine the cat calls!!

law for one group and one for the other in Ireland.

Fine gael and the anti-Republicans are up to their necks in corruption.

Silencing people over garda corruption - can it get any worse??!!

Fine Gael won't let civil war die - protecting their old Blue Shirt commrades.

This is a regular problem with our Political Class.

I can give numerous examples of TDs and Ministers receiving "briefings" on topics, and/or people, such that the Politician receiving the "inside track" comes away with a totally distorted version of reality, but trusts the source (or is afraid to cross the source).

One Minister famously told the Dail, with a straight face, that the Department of Justice had briefed him to the effect that the Irish Computer Society were "anti-War campaigners", and "attention seekers".

We saw much the same thing at the time of the Northern Bank Fraud Cover Up.

So was the ACTUAL recording in the Special Court of the Gardai trying to get a Man to sign a statement by saying they would arrest his wife and get their child put in care a lie?

Tape of garda threats to man
