RSF Ard Comhairle member was committed to prison on Saturday while attending a POW protest in Armagh. This was in relation to her previous conviction for attending a protest against the internment of Martin Corey, and her subsequent refusal to pay the fine.

I see that the response to protests against internment is to have those engaged in peaceful protest arrested and imprisoned. Some democracy eh?

You could be in the cage for 'journalists' who cover things up rather than reporting them.
Seems like he's not the only one. A leading member of a political organisation imprisoned for peaceful protest and this ends up in the zoo.

Write a better OP or improve this one and the thread might just be restored.

Have amended it to set out all the salient facts. Perhaps not the most sophisticated question ever, but its an important one none the less, is this the kind of democracy that people support, internment, and imprisonment for peaceful protest.

Clearly there are some on this site that do support these things. Well, at least those who oppose them know where we stand.

Who is this Cait? Do you know or not?
Breaking: Poster pissing away the day posting on the internet unwilling or unable to use said internet to find out the answer to a very simple question and opts for asking the internet in general instead in quest for more 'likes'.

I suspect this is more misrepresentation from RSF or one of its supporters.

Was Kate arrested for attending a rally or because she still hasn't paid the fine?

According to the 1169 linked she hasn't been interned - she is back inside serving the sentence imposed in March ....

Cait Trainor, RSF Ard Chomhairle member , was arrested at the protest in Armagh and taken to Lurgan barracks where she will be held until Monday 29th October. From there she will be taken to Hydebank Jail in Belfast to serve a two-week sentence imposed in March this year at Craigavon courthouse.

Remind me again exactly how many are in jail for the UVF incursion into Short Strand?
