Ivor Callely has resigned from Fianna Fail. In a statement tonight Senator Callely said he resigned from the party because the party committee wouldn't give him more time to refute allegations of misconduct.

His statement tonight said his resignation was "inevitable", that not resigning would have "afforded legitimacy to an enquiry that denied .. fair procedures".

Inevitable really, he should have had the grace to go long ago "for the sake of the party".

You know he was probably one of the better Fianna Failers........
No evidence of corrupt payments, no planning shenanigans and no pilfering
out of medical fundraising accounts......
Who am I kidding:rolleyes:

I don't know what party you're talking about; because FF members don't do dignified resignations.

Usually they have to get the cleaners in to remove the scratches & fingernails off the floor after one of them gets kicked out !

I hope he sings like a canary now. Hey, he needs the money, judging by his ill-fated property investments.

That was my point. Even now he seems to be saying it's all unfair!

Time for this little piggie to squeal.
What do you bet the first serialised article for the sindo is ready to go?

How many think that this'll lead to our own version of Mani Pulite with Callely playing the role of Mario Chiesa?
