Now there is a country that is going to pot.

Time to rename the country as Cannadas.

On a more serious note, this will hopefully drive down the consumption level of hard drugs.

Mary Jane is not a safe drug. It can produce serious long term side effects and mental illness. However, it's users damage themselves. In that sense it is in the same bracket as Tobbaco. But it is actually much, much worse.

Alcoholics, Cocaine addicts, Heroin users damage other people.

America's war on drugs always meant something a bit more than simply fighting drug use.

I think everything should be legalised. All the wasted money saved on the impossible drug war could be used in prevention and education programmes. It's billions and billions on law enforcement, police, border control, anti smuggling, drug mules, airport security, incarceration, drug programmes............

I've mentioned it before on the original marijuana thread (can't search for it) that Ireland needs to legalise both consumption and cultivation.

It's only a matter of time before this drug is legalised throughout the EU and beyond.

We need to be at the forefront of research and cultivation asap.
Ireland can capitalise with being the market first-mover, but we need to act now.

Wow!

GSOC

God save our children. We already ignore the plight of the 16-25 yo Drug Induced Schizophrenics.

One ward in John of Gods in Dublin is not even any attempt to address the issues for the entire country.

BTW Mammy is one who carries the can here. She will be beaten black and blue by sonny boy.

Criminalisation and destablisation of the producing countries, and so on and so forth.

Youd almost think it suits someone to keep the whole mess going.

It can be harmful and it can be a help depending on its use. It can also be made much less harmful; reduce the amount of THC, increase the CBD and let people vape or eat it and much of the damage is gone.
Illegality makes is a thousand times more dangerous because it makes it unregulated, lets its profits be controlled by gangsters and lets those same gangsters hawk their nastier wares on their clients.
Legalising is a no brainer. The only argument against it is from those controlling people who like to dictate what the rest of us can do and like to be our megalomaniac Moms and Dads.

It should be regulated, like all drugs and like all drugs it should be restricted from those too young to know what they are doing. Consenting adults should be able to do the fup they want as long as it doesn't harm anyone else, everyone else should take their nose out.

Except that those who now make a very nice criminal living selling it will now move on to selling harder drugs and hey, they have a whole new generation who are already using drugs to sell to.
But listen, don't bother thinking this through, just delight in not being told what to do.
