A lot of these technological advances never see the light of day until years after they've been manufactured. I wouldn't be suprised if there is an even more powerful super computer sitting somewhere in the Pentagon (or Area 51 ??).
Didn't the CEO of Intel say a few months ago that computer processor technology was nearing its limits and advances in that field will be slower than they've been previously unless a new scientific breakthrough came?

Ray Bradbury the science fiction writer had one of his 1950s characters listening to what could have been described as an early walkman.
Reading those kind of predictions all those years ago learnt us to be very patient. Even video records had been mentioned in the 50s.

But the speed of technological progress in recent decades has astounded us all.
The billions now inhabiting the world are sure to catapult us into a future few could have forseen.

I remember hearing about a chemical computer.

What about the speed of a specialist computer programmed to be very single minded?
Like a religious maniac.
Just look at how fast they can come up with answers to everything. :)
