Perhaps pacifist and socialist go a bit too far then.

No offence intended :)

How would you differentiate Christ's teachings from the beliefs of the Christian Right, Field Marshal?
The Christian Right that you are referring to is very much an American phenomena and they differ greatly from French Integralists for instance, they do though have a significant degree of influence over the DUP and TUV however. I have been saying a while now that the whole of Ireland would be better off if we completely purged the land of American influence. Personally I have a large degree of admiration for the Christian Left in the Russian Federation and Belarus- even for the Ultras who believe that Stalin was secretly anointed an Orthodox Tsar before being martyred through poison by Freemasons before he could reveal this fact to the world and want to find one of his descendants to place on the Throne (the Rurik Tsars were among the greatest Christian rulers ever while over all the Romanovs were often pretty terrible). I do think however that a lot of Latin American Liberation Theology is heretical because it shifts the focus of Christianity from the Kingdom of the Heavens to this earth.

Insane thread-attempt to conflate the two is sub-Dawkins drivel but par for the course from the Libloon mindset. I know,I'm a religious nut racist xenephobe. No just a zzzenephobe.

Rushdoony was pretty close to an Islamist. One Unionist candidate in the upcoming Northern Ireland election wants to bring in the death penalty for adultery (that is pretty Salafi).

Would you have anything low on guilt, effort and temperance...but I can fit into a busy work schedule?
At the risk of offending some of our tetchier posters, might I suggest workaday Irish Catholicism? Seems to work for most people I know - few obligations beyond putting your face in at Church at convenient times and ticking a box in a census form.

That's not true. I used to rat on the quaaaares to the Legion of Decency. The local director was an unmarried man who asked me to compile a list of homosexuals within a 5 mile radius.

Is there a diet version?...all the goodness, but only half the guilt?

O

Oscurito

All of which may now be determined with a quick swipe of a Grindr screen.

Aaaah.....technology!

Here we go with again with your utterly bourgeois pseudo-egalitarianism worthy of the likes of Cruimh.
Cruimh is a protestant as were you until recently.
Catholocism is egalitarian in essence.
Christ died to redeem all men and women.
You seem totally confused about that core fact.

Cardinal Bergoglio believes in pandering to the vulgar masses.
That is becuase he is an out of touch Argentinian vulgarian .
You can not expect anything else.
South America is full of such boorish loud types.

The fact is though they are Catholic lay people are not integrally Catholic the way that Monks and Nuns are who live a fully Catholic life which is almost impossible to do when you are caught up in the world.
That is nonsense.
It is deeply deeply uncatholic to declare that Christs teaching and message can only be followed properly by people who withdraw from the world or who remain celibate.

That is a repulsive distortion of the very very worst kind.

Therefore they count for much more than lay people.
Complete judgemental rubbish.

How dare you pass judgement on the countless millions of catholic lay faithful over the centuries who lived and died in the faith.

It is easy to see you are a new convert to catholiciscim with a gigantic amount to learn.

Of course the Catholic Church opposes theft however I don't see how you can make out that Socialism is not superior to Capitalism given how one corresponds both to the Apostolic era Church and Monasticism much more than the other does.
Political arguments of that sort are entirel misplaced and have nothing whatever to do with any genuine sense of catholicism.

Socialism and Feudalism are much more suited Christianity than is the Liberal Democratic Capitalism which you support.
I am in favour of private ownership of goods as always taught and held by the RCC.
As such I oppose all forms of socialist politics as being intrinsically harmful to humans.

The RCC has always supported the right to own property and goods and condemned all forms of forced collectivisation which you and the deluded cardinal Bergoglio seem to support.

Now toddle along and study propely the religion you have joined and stop listening to deluded left wing clerics, cardinals etc.
They are pseudo Christians peddling a populist false and divisive gospel..

Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone.

Islam rejects that God rested on the seventh day of the creation, that He wrestled with one of His prophets or that He is incarnate in any human being.

Islam also rejects the attribution of any human form to God. All of these are considered blasphemous.

God is the Exalted. He is far removed from every imperfection. He never becomes weary. He does not become drowsy nor does he sleep.

Do you have problems with any of these?
The entity that Muslims believe in is not a God at al but a totally false human construct that denies the true nature of God.

The true nature of God is the Christian Trinitarian concept and those who refuse or deny that truth are completely deceived and living in darkness and fear.

Islam,s leitmotif is abject terror and fear.
The so called "God" they believe in is a monstrous unforgiving brute that demands human sacrifice and promotes hatred.

Got all of that?

Now go study your cathecism properly.

Who need to study here

The New Encyclopædia Britannica:
"Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord' (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since."

The New Catholic Encyclopedia:
"The formulation 'one God in three Persons' was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma.
Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective

It is fairly easy to know what to believe if you read the four gospels of the New Testament.

Christs teaching and words are laid out therein fairly clearly by all four ...
Jesus is God, born of the Father before time began.

And God was the Controlling Mind who directed the various human authors of the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Even the authors of the stuff that contradicts itself?

The Christian Right is a political umbrella movement masquerading as a religious one, it is tied to big money, greed and the thirst for power and scapegoats the less defended sections of society like all such groups. The preachers include a lot of scammers, some of the services are like disco dances though so i suppose people get something out of it - people need community and these people give them a sense of what they need while brainwashing them - then they sell on their brains to the Republican Party and Zionism and big business.
