Republican senator John McCain’s wife Cindy appears in a new video which attacks the ban on out gay soldiers.

The is not the first time Mrs McCain has supported LGBT campaigns. In the latest ad, she appears to be suggesting that her husband is partly responsible for the homophobic bullying with has led to a number of gay teenage suicides

I thought that it was their daughter that usually talk this line. McCain has shamed himself in the last 3 years by jumping on the republican crazy-train and losing any sense of integrity that he may have had. It's good to see that the ladies in his family don't feel the need to share his hypocrisy.

Jon Stewart did a great piece on this basically showing John McCain is delaying all he can to stop the law being thrown in the bin. He just doesn't like gay people much. Clown.

Pointless thread needs locking.
Not pointless at all odie mate, in fact it should be of interest to those with an interest in conservative politics in the US. Someone as high profile as Mc Cain would normally have a wife and family backing him but he doesnt, what does that say?

Hardly a new development is US politics;

See Tipper gore opposing women's liberation while Al comes over all liberal, or indeed Hilary opposing the sexual abuse of women in the workplace by men who are in positions of authority over them while her husband... well you know the rest.

Newsflash - Cindy McCain wasn't the one running for office. That aside her husband, only came second in the Presidential election.
Well done on your late arrival to the thread.....as if her opinions dont count ......

Thanks. FYI Her opinions haven't counted for about 2 years now.
Women have played a prominent role around the world as wives and indeed have gone on themselves to be successful. Cristina Kirchner was a first lady for a few years and went on to become president of Argentina while Hillary Clinton is now Secretary of State. Both these were wives at the time when their presidents were in power, to get to where they were they would have had to exerted some influence. Looking at Cindy Mc Cain she seems to infer that her husband should change his mind. Most conservative Americans would want to see a united front for a family of a standing as the Mc Cains would they not? Im open to correction but thats the way it seems to me.

Interesting that a topic on homosexuality - Don't ask, don't tell - gets calls for this thread to be locked. Not to mention shooting the messenger - the McCains.
