Specialist religious books publisher Columba Press, who entered examinership in May have announced that they are liquidating, having failed to find an investor. The press, which is 32 years old, published books from both Catholic and Protestant authors and also have a fiction imprint, Currach. Times are hard for all kinds of print publishing, but you'd have to imagine that this is particularly true for Irish religious books.

Sign of the times in a more secular minded Irish market.

I would say the bell tolls for them but I don't want to be convicted of blasphemous libel. :p

They better write a sequel to the Bible soon! It's worse than waiting on the next game of thrones novel so it is!

I wouldn't read too much into it in that way.
All print press is losing readership.
Do gays still walk down to the specialist bookshops to buy Gay Times?
I know An Phoblacht sales went down despite SF membership going up.

When was the last time you saw an under-25 in a shop buying a newspaper or magazine of any description?
I used to be one every morning even when I was 16.

Well something seems to be keeping the FG shills quiet, although I doubt it's the latter.

I downloaded my copy of the Quran. Do you want me to burn you a copy?
Only if it's draped in the Stars and Stripes.... Hang on, is that right?
