Hi.
Any thoughts on this guy ? A seemingly popular Irish political commentator , online like.
Seems to be surfing some kind of Paul Watson wave , but duller and more vague.
Im not impressed myself. Seems no smarter or insightful than some of our own, resident p.ie 'alt right types'.
He annoys me , not for his politics but for his baffling popularity despite him never really saying anything of substance.
Thoughts?

Is that the red headed guy? Haven't seen enough of his content to judge much but I did get a sense that he likes a bit of word soup. He seems to like to use words like "maxism", "socialism" and "communism" interchangeably. I think the first time I saw something from him was about Brexit. For the record, I'm fairly openly euroskeptic here in that I feel the direction of the EU is not what the most of Europeans want and its not proceeding without adequate democratic consent. However, I remember one of this guy's videos where he described it as "totalitarian" and that made me laugh. Totalitarian? To put it in perspective, national socialism was totalitarian. Do you know how you can tell the EU isn't totalitarian? An irish redhead can upload videos bashing it and stay out of a work camp of some kind.

But ye, I don't think I've seen anything recommended from him in ages. He's still going? lol Is he really _that_ popular?

I suppose popularity is relative/subjective but yeah , he gets a lot of adulation for bland populist 'ideas'.
Recently he 'came out' as anti repeal which I thought was pretty opportunistic.
He normally talks about 'logical' economic , Randian tosh.

And also 'Black Lives Matter', for some bizarre reason.

I get the feeling though that if you upload a few videos about subjects like that you'll grow an audience fairly quickly. I'm not sure what his politics are other than he likes to use different words interchangeably like "marxism" and "communism" at least from what I saw, which tells me he doesn't really know much about either. I'm no Marxist though it appealed to me in my youth and I grew out of it, but I find it hilarious at times when youtubers talk about Marx and seem to get so much completely wrong, particularly in areas like Free Speech and freedom of the press. A young Marx actually wrote very strongly on these topics. One of my favorite quotes from Marx is...

"You marvel at the delightful diversity, the inexhaustible riches of nature. You do not ask the rose to smell like a violet; but the richest of all, the mind, is supposed to exist in only a single manner?"
Karl Marx on censorship.

He also described opposition to a free press as maintaining the permanent immaturity of the human race, as well as many other things on the issues. Therefore, there are self-described Marxists today who are very libertarian minded in that sense and they got it from reading Karl Marx. In fact, I was probably convinced that free speech and a free press are vital because of things Karl Marx wrote. It also should be noted that many of the intellectual right going back right to the mid-20th Century were Marxists in their 20s as well.

However, go to YouTube and they describe attacks on free speech as "neo-marxism" and so forth. They really just don't know enough, and neither do their viewers apparently.

His objective seems to be to stimulate rationality, honesty, and debate.

Which means that those who exist to serve authority, will probably respond with comptempt, guilt-trips, manipulation and a dishonest shoring up of authority.

Best of luck to him.

He can't seem to walk down the road without seeing a another threat to white males. He appears to be living in fear in his attic that some woman or "sjw" might break in through the skylight and steal his mint condition Princess Leia, gold bikini action figure..

He started off doing computer/tech reviews, then he kind of went political.

Can you actually make money doing what he does?

He probably makes about $1000 per month across the platforms

He's pro Trump & Brexit, anti EU, very anti feminist, advocated No votes in both Gay Marriage and Abortion refs, believes mainstream media is lying to you!,

There is a globalist / EU conspiracy to flood us with migrants. Merkel and Macron are evildoing puppets..but someelse pulls the strings..

He's scores a full bingo card of Euro Alt.Right issues, like a cheaper Irish remake of many UK shows (unlike say Irish Superstars, he adds nothing.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZUJ_bV2eHk )

I despair that there are people out there who watch this nob and think, "yeah, you know, he's the man, let's send him money to hear more of his wisdom."

There appears to an audience for every idiot out there.

Oh, is that his name?
I use YouTube for my TV viewing. And a regular search entry for me are the words Star Trek. Resulting in suggestions by the bots on YouTube of any kind of content mildly related to the series (documentaries, recorded conventions, fan-films, reviews, uploaded episodes before the Copyright police pull them off).

He makes little videos moaning about the "Cultural Marxism agenda" of Star Trek, a nasty little bastard. I despise seeing his thumbnails, with his cartoon avatar red hair superimposed on maybe a film poster. I hate the sound of his voice; smug, southside, silver-spoon, sheltered, suburban, soft, haute bourgeois, entitled, condescending.

I strongly suspect he at the very least has had an account here. He mightn't be a regular poster but he is familiar with the site. His ego will be blown no end by him getting a thread all about him.

Yea, the internet is just filling up that reactionary, faux intellectual bile.
