bet ya didn't know that Green Party Senator Dan Boyle once played in a Band called Blueprint, named after the 1973 Rory Gallagher Album - seems to be mentioned in the Book
Here's a Rory song more in keeping with Dan's current job

I was leafin' through this in town and it looked very interesting. I immediately looked up the Burning Embers as I remember meeting them walking up the street in Cork around '88 ( as a kid ) and there is a piece on them.

It does sound interesting ... must have an aul sconse at it myself

Incidentally .... people were attempting to bring out a CD on Cork Rock Music which was fairly comprehensive ... far as I remember they pretty much got consent from everyone to incude a Track 'cept the Rory Gallagher Estate and that caused probs to include a Gallagher Track

I wonder was such a CD ever released after ... was a few years back, maybe City of Culture year and after

wasn't Sean O'Hagan in Microdisney as well with Cathal Coughlan?

Yep, 3 good ones there. Chymera seems to be doing well for himself.

And John Daly, though he's based in Galway afaik.

Too much nostalgia... we're in a golden age at the moment, with bands like Hope is Noise, Terror Pop, [r]evolution of a sun, Slugbait/Terriers, Former Monarchs, Elk, I'll Eat Your Face, Trumpets of Jericho, The Altered Hours, Mersk, The Great Balloon Race, Daphne in the Attic, Ladydoll...

Cork Rock's greatest chapter hasn't been fully written yet at all!

As they say "Cork is an anagram of Rock"

Any mention of the Lobby, that unique place run by Pat Conway?

Rory is the greatest Rock Artist this Country ever produced

Indeed one of the greatest ever from anywhere

Rory Rory Glory Gloryy

Rory Gallagher - Moonchild - YouTube
My dad would disagree, as he played once or twice with him, my dad would describe him as the only one that mixed blues with electric in a way that changed the world....

My dad regards him higher than Lennon
