I love this place for breaking news.

TBH that Erdogan fella is losing the run of himself.

Anyway, it could be a suspicious package somewhere too.

Possibly for the best, Erdogan is already close to instigating a dictatorship, rather a secular one that doesn't support Daesh then a fundamentalist (and corrupt) one that does.
Thought he had well and truly castrated the top generals though.

Do turkeys live in coups?

This would be an ideal time for theresa may to send Boris over on a mission!

Seriously though if true it is a good thing. Erdogan is too Islamist and the Turkish military don't like that. I'd rather a general who cracks down on ISIS than a politician who helps them. Also as a perk that's them out of the EU for another 30 years!

"Attempt by part of muilitary'
Yildirim says "it would be wrong to call it a coup" but that there has been an attempt by "part of the military".

He describes it as an "illegal attempt" to seize power.

Good luck to the soldiers who are presumably secularists who don't want to go to war with everyone around them nor see their country turn into Saudi Arabia.

That'd be the officers I'd say.
