This is the key quote imo from the most recent CSO report online regarding this topic:

The number of immigrants to the State in the year to April 2017 is estimated to have increased by 2.8% from 82,300 to 84,600, while the number of emigrants declined over the same period, from 66,200 to 64,800. These combined changes have resulted in net inward migration for Ireland in 2017 (+19,800), the highest level of net inward migration since 2008. See table 1.
Net immigration therefore at its highest for years was 0.4%, a tiny amount relatively, half Holland's for an example.

So all this talk of us being flooded with immigrants is based on three non empirical and not very logical emotional responses fear/xenophobia/ignorance;racism and complete nonsense.

on a related note:

Irish nationals continue to experience net outward migration, although at a much lower level than in the previous year, falling from -8,800 to -3,400, while net inward migration among non-Irish nationals decreased from 25,000 to 23,200. See table 2.

So I suppose people in those countries to which the Irish are migrating are going "gosh we are being flooded by pissed up paddies, micks, sheilas and bridgets, soon there won't be a bottle of beer to be had in the country" and they are in the right so to do?

But those are fake figures. The CSO is in the pockets of George Soros, and the liberal media elites, and so on.

The real figures reflect a much different situation, as anyone who has gone to Eddie Rockets in Blanchardstown will know.

One of our lesser spotted scutterers was going on about O'Connell St. being like the terminus of a major International Airport- which led me to suspect he was never in either.

The Outward migration is because of the SSM vote and the impending loss of funding for Catholic Marriage guidance counselling ...... Soon there won't be a straight "native" Irishman or woman to be found on Erin's green shores ....
Heaven on earth :D

Well that was written in The Protocols Of The Elders of Zion to be fair to them, there's also the lizard people and the teachings of Erich von Däniken to factor in.

Population and Migration Estimates April 2017 - CSO - Central Statistics Office

You forget to mention that 95% of asylum applicants are bogus . Then 75% of failed asylum seekers get leave to remain and access to family reunification ,welfare and a house . I think with some control on non EU immigration and illegals attitudes would change .

Interesring to compare to the UK migration number - 0.3%

Ours is one third higher. The UK decided to destroy their own economy because of their figure.

To be fair, it is kind of like CDG. Long, dirty and far too crowded, so maybe that was the point they were making...

Maybe.

Thanks for reminding us that a number equivalant to the the population of the 2 largest towns Dundalk and Drogheda or a city equivalant to the size of waterford or galway arrived on our shores last year!

No doubt many hard working and will be postive for the country but others will cause mayhem and be a be drain on the countries resources - but we shouldnt express an opinon on all of this according to you!

You have a link to back this up?

I know this doesn't allay your paranoia but here's the official position:

36,000 people died in 2017, yet Waterford, Drogheda and Dundalk, Athlone too are still in it.

Those are official statistics, of course they wouldn't tell the real story.
I need to hear Catalpa's take on this before taking any of it seriously.

That man has the pulse of the nation.

Will we ever learn?

Hard raw data from safe, independent and professional sources is a poor substitute for soft runny scutter from alt right websites

Crime
Crime levels are low although there is some petty crime. Violent crime does occur; instances of gang related crime, including shootings and explosions, have been reported in Malmö and Gothenburg. Pick pocketing can be a problem in the major cities when tourists are targeted for passports and cash.
Not so much in Helsinki, Copenhagen and Oslo, for some reason. Perhaps it's ABBA guilt.

well then, why is every irish town awash with immigrant types ? ah but the statistics do not confirm this ? why is every dole office also looking like the United Nations ?

prediction : this thread will be red hot. Cos only an idiot thinks the current level of Immigration into Ireland is acceptable. Some call it immigration, others call it Colonisation.
