The FFGLab party have taken care of their own by nominating Gilmore for the post of head of the EU’s human rights monitoring and advocacy operation.

Eamon Gilmore nominated to lead EU human rights advocacy

Happy Gilmore is of course is most famous for making up a job for his wife after her old position was abolished:
I didnt get my wife €117,000 job in Education – Eamon Gilmore - Independent.ie

Was there a competition and hiring process for candidates to get a nomination for this position ? More seriously is there any sort of due process involved in nominations to these plum positions in the EU ? Labour of course previously nominated Kevin Cardiff who had a senior role in the department of finance when the economy collapsed.

This kind of thing makes me despair.

What does Gilmore know about human rights, having presided over thousands (if not more) suicides caused by austerity on his watch? The blood on his hands won't wash off.

It's all so hopeless.

No
Isn't he the chap who brought peace to South America shortly after he became a Masai warrior? You would imagine he'd have got a job with the HSE with those qualifications.

Absolutely hopeless that one of such little integrity could be even considered for such a role. We sure live in an age when the sh1t rises to the top and that's being a bit unfair to sh1t. The EU is sinking in its own sh1t.

Sweet christ! From the very article you link to:

"Her right to retain a job on the same salary is guaranteed under the Croke Park Agreement."

No pay rise. A small loss of allowances. To a civil servant who had her job and full salary guaranteed by collective bargaining on the same basis as every other civil servant.

You really do need to identify what was irregular about her appointment, because the article doesn't mention a single problem with it, other than that Fianna Fáil are trying to make political hay out of it.

Again, from the self-same article:

"The Department of Education has said that no interviews were carried out for the new position because it was a redeployment arrangement."

he's being rewarded for pushing through polices that would make Connolly retch (HAP/slashing the council housing list, Job bridge, slashing social welfare and state services etc)

Mr Gilmore is a former student leader who went to work for the then Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union (now Siptu) before entering politics as a member of Sinn Féin, the Workers’ Party which eventually merged with Labour.
Eamon Gilmore nominated to lead EU human rights advocacy

- er they weren't a Boy Scout organisation folks....

Not Big into your 'Human Rights' if you fell foul of their associates...

Does this mean yet again Gilmore will be doing it Frankfurt's way?

Okie dokie comrade! " a redeployment arragement" it is, they're not even trying with that gibberish

"This is a role which didn't exist prior to now, for which there were no advertisements, therefore not allowing other people to compete for the role." Seems to be par for the course in jobs the Gilmore's are gifted !!

I'm sure he'll be excellent in this political position.
Why ? He has no qualifications in the area ...so why do you think he'll do a good job with no qualifications for that role ?

Just because hes from Labour ? one of the yours hup ya boy ya !!

Well done for proving Labour and its supporters are the same sort of tribalist neanderthals as FF and FG despite your obvious misplaced smug self regard

If Ireland could only produce as many self made business millionaires as it does public service ones it'd be a great place .....

And whats quite astonishing is , just like Michael Hoiggins , for a socialist he doesn't half love personal wealth does he

His wife will be on a pension of 60k from ,that black hole of political gombeenism and cronyism , the education board system (exact same as the old health board system , not what you know but who with zero accountability).

He must be on a pension of 90 k (minimum) from his numerous politicians pensions ....

But is that enough ...Christ No

Its off to the ultimate bolt hole for despised politicians ...The EU , overpaid and pensioned, refugee centre for services to the new empire.

Any chance we could get a few thousand Gilets Jaunes over here to petrol bomb the bastards out of their corrupt gombeen security

The rot continues.

Will Gimmiemore lecture the Kim ruling family (his old buddies from the 1980s ) concerning human rights ?

This is simply farcical.

This is the two cheeks on FFG doing a favour to the red scratching area that keeps them in existence.
