Doherty said the Shinners are going to take an action in Waterford and one in Dublin to force these.

The seven brave men executed in May 1916 must be spinning in their graves today. They died for nothing as the Ireland they dreamed of is dead and buried.

Fianna FAIL - the Republican party? Yeah right!!

We need to take this country back from the gombeen men of the Greens and Fianna FAIL. Neither must ever be allowed to be in power again for they have destroyed the country I love.

This is very bad news. We all know what happened in Derry when people were denied the right to vote. A democratic vacuum has now appeared.

Absolute contempt for the constitution... What a disgrace.... Anyone taking a case against them to have a repeat of the ruling of DSW for the other constituencies? How would one go about it?

Only now? You must be joking. That vacuum has existed for a long time.

THe opposition should stop doing dail pairing to get this through. Its an underhanded trick to pull but thats that FF/Greens are doing by not holding the by-elections.

Nothing. As the government are appealing the Shinner case, it means the High Court will not hear any cases on the same matter.

There is a ray of light, the supreme court might move on the case very quickly as its a matter of national importance?

Can a citizen take a case to the supreme court to get this item heard tomorrow?

The Oireachtas is composed of leeching spongers and gobschtights. The hot and bothered song and dance act this morning is an insult to the people of Ireland. There are far more important things to be done other the election of yet another useless plank of wood. The political money-making self-serving elite are living on a completely different planet to the rest of us. Cut their salaries to 30K or less with no expenses accross the board as they are all a complete waste of time and money.

Such clever game playing by the shower of bastards in FF.
Because they take this to the supreme court, no order cases can be taken to the high court.
Shame on FF dirt, hope the people of donegal have better sense then to return another FF gombeen to the Dail.

Been saying this for a while as well...there is a serious absense of fairness and democracy in this country by FF and the Greens....

The know it alls in FG asnd Labour must be kicking themselves that they didn't do what SF did at the same time...we could of been looking at the government being wiped out before the budget if the judge had of ruled the same way on all three...

Democratic vacuum and a violent police force clamping down on unarmed protesters.

Ireland is now in a very very dangerous place.

That's the way the establishment elites like it. Sooner or later protests will be banned on health and safety grounds. They will start by making it necessary to apply for permission to have one, several months in advance, of course.

Really disgraceful.

If the Dail does not have its full compliment of members, and the Taoiseach is preventing the filling of any vacancies, particularly having been told by the High Court that such actions are unconstitutional, the Taoiseach cannot claim to have the support of the Dail.

Parliamentary democracy has been thwarted by the Executive.

A Coup D'Etat is justifed at this point.

The smug complacency and easy money are gone.
That might have worked a year ago. It angers people now.
And things are only starting to turn down in earnest from here on.
