Very scary video, Mcwilliams even thinks the Irish may riot fairly soon, excellent points as to why are the Irish people bailing out private investors over Anglo Bank.

Not our debt not our problem.

Interesting videos.

So let me see, if Greece defaults then the ECB needs to intervene and provide the liquidity for the banks.

So why not just do that now before Greece or Ireland or anyone else defaults?

In the Eurozone it should not be the responsibility of a individual nation to bail out any bank. That should be a problem for the ECB and if that was the case we might see a bit more attention paid to the proper workings of the banks. I have long been of this view but I am probably overlooking the obvious.

This isn't just a monetary crisis, it is also a spiritual crisis.

Honesty and integrity are essential to a properly functioning society, something we have a very short supply of, in Ireland.

We cant have a functioning economy without a functioning society and vice versa.

There's the nub. Thank you for saying it.

John Stuart Mill said:
“Panics (financial crises) do not destroy capital; they merely reveal the extent to which it has already been destroyed by its betrayal into hopelessly unproductive works.”.
Yes, our capital was betrayed in the past couple of decades into the most hopelessly unproductive works you could imagine.

- With honesty and integrity in our society, this betrayal could not have happened.

But what's worse is that even after this crisis has revealed the extent of the betrayal of our capital, they want to continue betraying it into more and more hopelessly unproductive works - across the whole spectrum, from Windmills to NAMA to 'Smart Economy' quangos...

In between the sloganeering, Max Keiser has some good general points to make but his knowledge of Ireland is up there with Borat's knowledge of the USA (before Borat recorded his documentary film).

Mind you, McWilliams referred to Kilkenny as a town. If he keeps that up, it will ensure he's about as popular there as that Tipp woman who put the cat in the bin on youtube.
