Since the outbreak on fighting in Syria in March 2011 well over 60,000 people have died. Navi Pillay, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, has said that the death toll is approaching 70,000 thousand. Earlier this week the UN highlighted it's concern over the number of Palestinians killed and injured during the conflict where, last week alone, thirty were killed mainly in Damascus and seven of which were members of the same family. Estimates report between 850-1000 Palestinians have died so far.

To put that in perspective for the shrieking anti-Semites, who are uncharacteristically quiet on this issue that's almost ten times the number killed brutally and savagely murdered by evil Jews during the 2008/09 Gaza conflict. Funny that your daily condemnation of Israel continues apace but we see next to nothing said about this?

What's more, it seems the usual suspects aren't the only ones who could care less about Palestinian deaths unless Jews are involved. In fact they're in good company as PA President Abbas has rejected a conditional offer where by Israel agreed to the return thousands of Palestinian refugees trapped in Syria to Gaza and the West Bank on condition they don't claim a right to return on Israel. Abbas stated that "we rejected that and said it’s better they die in Syria than give up their right of return". Thereby leaving his own people to remain in danger in a war-torn country, where one thousand of them have already died, purely for ideological reasons. Nice.

He gives more than those who profess to care while using the Palestinians as a stick to beat Israel.

How did these Palestinians end up in Syria anyway. They might still be safe at home if they hadn't been ethnically cleansed after '48.

Because he's a Jew, I suppose?

Funny that the Irish Government, of which he is an elected member, have given €7.1 million in aid, including an additional top up of €4.7, in humanitarian aid to Syria. This included an earmarked €200,000 assistance for Palestinian refugees.

Too? Where else has he used Irish troops to "stick it to muslims"?

So they were in Syria coz they were ethnically cleansed from their homes by Israel?

"Whataboutery" narrowly beat "irony" for work of the day I see.

926 Civilians died during cast lead. I've made and error, however. I was initially going to use deaths from 2012, but used 08/09 as it was, I though, more comparable with the situation in Syria.

They wouldn't be there getting killed if they hadn't been forcibly evicted from their own country. Palestinians have had to put up with the indignity of living in refugee camps in Lebanon, Syria & Jordan since 1948.

Indeed, as Abbas would rather they die there than compromise his ideology and allow them to come to Gaza and the West Bank.
