No doubt FF/FG/GP will try to initiate an apology now that she has died, while hoping people will forget what hurt and suffering the state has done and continues to do.

Obviously you're entitled to your opinion but it's been completely rejected now by both courts.

HSE ****ed up, they then squandered yet more taxpayer funds with a ridiculous appeal. If it wasn't for the current crisis people would justifiably be calling for heads to roll.

Par for the course with the HSE. It's their core policy is to deny any negligence , a policy that prevents learnings being applied and consequently causes repeat errors. The taxpayer then foots the bill and medical staff face regulatory body inquiries.
Coming to this quote late, as I had only just received notification sound activity on the thread.
The decision to appeal was justified by the fact that he award against the HSE for the failure to disclose the audit results and the judgement against the Irish club seemed unfair, given that there was no no error by the Irish lab found in retrospect. Consequently it seems reverse that a finding of negligence should have been registered against them. Additionally there was no international priest it for the disclosure of anonymised ordered results so for this to have been considered efficient seemed to be unfair. However this was rejected by the supreme court so this is now final position. However it was still reasonable for the HSE to appeal original high court decision and no heads need roll for that.
I must read the supreme court judgement to see exactly what they said.

All any screening program is trying to do is to alert people who are asymptomatic that they have disease. In the absence of a screening program these people would still be asymptomatic and so would have no prior knowledge or warning of any sort to the disease that they have.
there's an argument to be made that people should only be considered for direct hands of the screening process such as trauma or bleeding as a result of The taking of a spear sample, given that it's a completely different situation to a diagnostic test where there is a clear indication orr reasonable suspicion of the presence of disease. Perhaps there needs to be a waiver form to allow Access to the programme

The state or the HSE has never apologised to her or the family, it remains to be seen if they will compound their ruthless stance by offering a half hearted apology now that the woman has died.
Surely they won't be that stupid?

In that case SF should apologise to her family too because if all our money wasn't wasted paying for the dole and free houses for SF supporters more money would be available to have a better health service😏

CervicalCheck campaigner Ruth Morrissey, who sued the HSE over the failure of her cervical smear tests, has died...she was aged 39.

Earlier this week, Mrs Morrissey and her husband, Paul, were paid the full sum of €2.16m in damages awarded to them by the High Court over the misreading of her cervical smear tests.
That's absolutely disgusting.

What the fk is wrong with this country, these greedy fkin scumbag politicians and the stupid fkin electorate.

What the absolute fk.

'Despite the broken promises of a Taoiseach'
The husband of Ruth Morrissey didn't hold back....a devastating put down of Leo Varadkar and Fine Gael.

The statement continued that the Supreme Court confirmed the High Court decision in holding the State and the HSE responsible for the errors in the operation of CervicalCheck, a decision that established the test for the standard of care for all other women and families in a similar situation.

It added that neither the HSE nor the State had ever apologised to Mrs Morrissey, "despite the magnitude of the harm caused to her by avoidable errors, despite the broken promise of a Taoiseach who said no other woman would have to go to trial, and despite using Ruth as a test case through the final years and months of her life".
“neither the HSE nor the State has ever apologised to her, and now it is too late”

It added that the Morrissey and Moloney families wished to thank all those who gave help, support and medical care to Ruth over these past few difficult years.

Was the State remiss is issuing a blanket apology rather that issuing personlised apologies to specific victims of this controversy?

I understand that there are some issues in relation to compensation claims but it definitely feels like it's too late to be acknowloding that what took place was wrong after a victim passes away.

On radio this morning it was stated that Leo gave an apology to all the women.

It sounded like Ruth had been in a lot of pain. Hope she's at peace now.

Some of our 'heroes' are looking less and less heroic tbh.
RIP to the poor woman and respects to those she left behind. Its absolutely appalling the way this whole thing has been handled.
The media reports saying they were paid in full are just as bad. Like it makes it any better?

Ffg and their msm mates are disgusting, if anyone needs proof of that you now have it in spades.

Oh look, here come their many p.ie apologists to tell us they're not the scum of the Earth after all 😖

terrible, if not unexpected, news.

the lack of empathy for the family from the state was also terrible, if not unexpected. Id wonder what Mr Morrisey's thoughts wouldve been when he read of holohan being made a freeman of dublin while Ruth was slipping away

You sound like an fg shill...for someone that isn't an fg shill 😊
No idea why you'd say that. I'm disgusted with the whole thing. An totally unnecessary death and a woman who had to fight in court while dying is disgusting.

He should apologise to my dad too as he died of lung cancer. There was no lung cancer screening so he was in effect murdered by FF/FG.
