Doherty needs a scattered second preference although he should do better with Pringle in the race and Sweeney. SF need to canvass heavily for preferences.

Far be it from me to compliment a Shinner, but Doherty is quite clearly the most impressive of the candidates.

32%?

It sounds more realistic than the Paddy Power poll.
If the poll was carried by the Donegal News themselves, then it'll be horribly inept and completely wrong

Frank McBrearty didn't turn up to the highland radio debate

he does seem somewhat capable and intelligent, its a pity he's a shinner as lets face facts baring some seismic shift in the political landscape (even greater than the potential implosion of FF) the shinners are unlikely to factor in any government following the next (and probably subsequent) GE

I believe that if Doherty wins a seat in the general election, in time he will become one of the most effective politicians ever to enter Dail Eireann.

A canvasser for Doherty called to the door last night and said that Doherty seems to be doing very well indeed at the doors. He went on to state there is a great deal of anger in this county at the moment at FF. Such anger that he has never seen before in this constituency.

Best for the country if they are not. The country needs an opposition to the new government, one who will speak for the ordinary citizen. Fianna Fail will have no credibility (or maybe no party) for the next decade!.

The debate was organised at short notice apparently and he couldn't make it
The debate was organised nearly 3 weeks ago. The labour party are now realising that he is an oaf with no brain and are to afraid to let him on the radio.

You'd think he could just shout loudly from wherever he was and they could have heard him.

Before the election was announced? I was just relaying what the host had said
