Yes coverage on RnaG was skewed also , not once until the very last minute did they state that Pat was in trouble, hoping against hope.

The Fianna Fáil organisation will be counting their lucky stars that McConalogue got in ahead of Pat the Cope.

Serious issues with FF in Donegal South West - Pat the Cope has only used the elderly membership to keep him in power, no revival has been done under the cope.
He has caused huge rifts in FF in Ardara to Gweedore to Falcaragh and only recently shafted his so called friend Enda Bonner.

His own secretary is now the only Fianna Failer in Dungloe, and nothing as far north as Lacagh Bridge. Molloy was lucky to be elected, if it wasn’t for his sporting achievements I doubt he would.

Injection of youth is needed in every area, it may be too late for FF to recover.
Pat the Cope has a lot to answer for from the FF membership if his record over 35+ is looked at.

Magnificent achievement from Pringle to pull away at the end. his breadth of transfers is unbelievable. Before Sweeney's votes were distributed the 'pundits' on Ocean FM were predicting Pringle's pro-choice stance would come back to haunt him and that they would largely favour the FF candidates; yet Pringle still picked up a large chunk of her transfers. Even when discussing JOD's transfers the 'pundits' once again made the same mistake in dismissing Pringle's chances of picking up transfers from JOD. You would have at least expected them to take of their FF/FG hat (and I'd include Kennedy in that) when making their predictions.
Similar story on Highland, before Harley's transfers were to be distributed. Ciaran Brogan was on air calling it as 2 FF with Greg Hughes agreeing with him, saying he'd reached a glass ceiling at that stage. Seriously impressive the transfers he got from all over the county, almost 7000 I think. His team were on the ball with it too as they said quite early yesterday that they were confident of getting the third seat which they did

Spot on. When FF had to get The Cope to run in 2016 you know they had an issue with younger talent in the party. After 2011 Martin needed as many younger candidates coming through but too many of the old guard held on. e.g. McEniff, Byrnehanging about instead of stepping aside for a younger candidates.
And this seems to be an issue nationally and potentially was a factor in this election. When you look at FF's front bench its quite poor in comparison to SF with Doherty and O Broin to the fore. With Fianna Fail apart from McGrath and possibly Donnelly (who seems to be a much diminished figure compared to a few years back) there doesn't seem to be too many who would cut through with the public.

Thomas has always been transfer friendly and showed in 2011 and 2016 how he can pull them in from everywhere. This is something that the 'pundits' totally ignored as well not spotting the trends both throughout the count and the anti FF/FG vote nationally. Its almost as if they were telling us what they wanted to happen rather than what they thought would happen!

Frank Galligan in this weeks paper went through Brendan Byrne FF director of elections.

Frank seems to know that the issue for FF is these parasites that Pat the Cope used fo Years. Complete overhaul needed and Pat the Cope and his cronies need to step back.

Enough damage has been by them to Fianna Fáil.

‘Hope without the Cope’

Big change in Donegal from a few years ago when it was totally controlled by FF , with two Ministers, McDaid and Coughlan , and the Blaney's , McEniffs , McGlinchey and Pat The Cope all in control of politics in the County.
