I'm not quite in Higgins' camp when it comes to Castro either, but he is perfectly entitled to what he's said. It's rare for the president to represent the opinions of everybody in the country on any one issue.
Re the presidential election, Higgins got my vote rather than right-winger Mitchell or the man with blood on his hands.

I don't regard Castro as a hero. I agree with the empirical evidence that state capitalism or state socialism, whatever you want to call it, is better than your imaginary 'free market'. The evidence of Cuba over Haiti shows this, whilst you don't complain about the freedom of women in Haiti to eat cookies made from dirt. Maybe they have an incentive to get off their arse and work, no? Of course, we never hear any of this, because you don't actually care about human rights and all that.

I could never forgive Castro for many things, including his treatment of gays. However, the economic achievements and medical accomplishments of a tiny island, compared to the other kips around it and especially since the embargo it has been under, shows what is possible. Along with centuries of evidence of state-led development building up the likes of America, for example. We don't need dole-heads like you earning your living off online poker using the bandwidth to create threads threatening to do things you'll do nothing about. ************************************' online all day here it seems, ranting and raving. You wouldn't be able to act a retard in Cuba, that's for sure. You have to do some form of contribution in a socialist system to earn your keep.

Anyway, did you go in and sabotage the book of condolence? Or did you eat your crayons on your way back from your forklift course that I'm paying for?
I assumed that the house always won in online poker?

"the man with blood on his hands." you say,
& you sport the Labour avatar - or more correctly the Labour-Stickie SF/IRA avatar,
& you're from Cork,
the city of Kathleen Lynch & her Stickie SF/IRA inlaws & outlaws,
& you have the neck to talk about people with ' blood on their hands.'
