Another interesting piece of history in the Irish Times - An Irishman's Diary carries an article about Ernie O'Malley, John Dillon and the ending of dublin Mean Time by the passing of the Time Bill 1916.

And of course reference to James Joyce and Dunsink time.
I'd quite fancy our own Irish Time, just so happens our clocks are going back 20 years soon.

I fear Dublin Mean Time may be back with us - for the next four years at leastand probably longer. And thanks to FF it's going to be a very mean time indeed.
