DUP's excessive influence upon Brexit

Late in the Brexit referendum campaign, the DUP, normally a party that thinks very local and acts very locally, funded an expensive 'wrap-a-round' advert in a widely read Great Britain newspaper (where it does not have any MPs or contest elections).
DUP Brexit donation: Adams calls for clarity on £435,000 - BBC News

The money came from wealthy Brexit supporters (possibly as few as one) who were themselves seeking a say over and above their one vote each.
Why the subterfuge? The belief is, that the 'Leave campaign' had already spent it's full legally permitted allowance in Scotland and England, but using a loop-hole, could sub further money to the campaign through a willing Northern Ireland party.

Brexit will now be imposed unwillingly upon Northern Ireland, and it's consequences will be felt in southern Ireland.

Yes. It's another debt we owe to the DUP.

Yet SF spent literally decades opposing everything to do with the European Project

- and now cynically support it...

- 2 P off the Unionists.....

Pot Kettle Black...

The DUPers are very confused bunnies.

They campaigned for Brexit.

Then Arlene Foster wrote a letter to Therese May expressing concerns about the effects of Brexit.

So. I've just read the OP. Couple of things spring to mind. Firstly, it makes no mention of SF? So why would you, if only to try to derail any conversation before it gets off the ground? Secondly, the spending around the Euro referendum is very strictly regulated, and this could represent a very serious breach of those rules, particularly as the individual is a high ranking conservative in scotland.
Thirdly, individuals, or non parties could only spend £700k, similarly the DUP could only spend £700k (in proportion to their vote). The DUP returns indicate they spent £435,622.

So, we can talk about SF, or we can talk about potential breaching of spending rules in a referendum that has the potential to upset the geopolitical balance of western europe, negatively influence the irish economy north and south (worth noting that a poor northern economy affects you) and potentially cause instability in the north.

Alternatively, you could just grow up.

I've been wondering why there was coverage of this £435k for which the DUP acted as a conduit. The OP clears that up.

Scandal after scandal after scandal. At least people know what the DUP stand for. Bigotry and corruption.

The question is did they receive additional funding that went directly into party coffers in return for their support ? Did the DUP sell its position on brexit to the highest bidder ?

'Mr Banks, a multi-millionaire who poured millions of pounds into the campaign for the UK to leave the EU, previously claimed that the DUP demanded money to back him'.

Who to believe? A tough one, it's not as if the DUP has......oh, wait....
